Quintessential old building in Annapolis, classy atmosphere, friendly service. Creative and seasonal drinks with fun made-in-house syrups and juices. The bar upstairs is great for conversation even when crowded. The food has historically been excellent with only a few exceptions- but I haven't eaten here in a while. This is one of the few higher-end restaurants in this town that manages not to be stuffy. Great place to take a date!

I've been here several times, and each time it's been a different, great experience. If you're grabbing a drink after work, their crafted cocktails and impeccable taste in select brews are impressive. If you're having a little happy hour with the office, the place has ample space with several high-top tables and a great side room. If you're coming here for a nice dinner, the cozy but trendy atmosphere, inventive small plates menu, and attentive staff should give you everything you came for. I plan on coming here many, many more times.

AMENDING MY REVIEW TO RESPOND TO THE RESTAURANT'S COMMENT: I've been using OpenTable since it launched. While you can add notes, there is not a "which table would you like to block off" feature. It is most certainly *not* like "booking a seat on a plane." Further, the idea that so many OpenTable reservations had made notes asking for specific tables that those were going to fill the almost-empty restaurant moments after we showed up is just absurd. INITIAL REVIEW: I've never left a bad review before but this place worked hard to merit one. We arrived on New Year's Eve having made a reservation. The place was almost empty, but for some unimaginable reason, they wanted to seat us next to the only other party, a table of eight people. We were just two people on a date on NYE, so we asked for a different two-person table. The host said he thought that was unlikely but said he'd ask the manager. The manager arrived and told us the other tables were all reserved. We told her we were confused because we also had a reservation. She told us everyone else had reserved, get this, those specific tables "a week ahead." Again, the place was EMPTY. And the idea that all of the tables for two - about 20 of them between the upstairs and downstairs - had been specifically reserved? Come on. We left and had a fantastic dinner elsewhere in Annapolis. Almost ruined our NYE. Nice try.

One of the better restaurants in Annapolis. Very good drink selection as well. All around good experience on a consistent basis. Was my opinion until recently, and I'm not the only one wondering what the heck happened here? I won't say much more because I truly hope they turn it around and soon!

The food was delicious and our waiter was excellent! We ordered multiple dishes and every one was terrific. The savory donuts, beet salad, tuna tartare, scallops, and salmon bruschetta were some of the dishes we had. Some of our family met us for dessert & we ordered one of each dessert. They were all very yummy. The cookies were amazing and so was the banana bread pudding. Oh, and I love their gimlet! I highly recommend eating & drinking here.
