Horrible restaurant. Called at 12:30 to place a pickup order, they said it wouldn’t be ready until 1:15. Showed up to pick up order and there was an insane line I waited 15 minutes in for. Pickup options should be much quicker. 45 minutes? That’s a joke. Use Cafe Rio a lot for work meals/taking meals to clients, but I’ve never had to visit this location. Do not recommend it.

Ok. I’ve been a Cafe Rio fan for more than 15 years. I’ve always admired their excellent service, quality product, and superior sanitation. It’s easy when it’s all on display right in front of you. However, the last 5 trips (including tonight’s) to the Cottonwood store on 1300 East have been seriously disappointing. Everything has been wrong. Tortillas not fully cooked. Cold meat. Disgusting assembly area. Poor communication with workers. Poor customer service. Employees just wondering around chatting and conducting non-work in a filthy work area. Nobody cleaning. Cashier handling food right after handling cash. Walking away before handing us our food. No thank you. Many many dirty tables (I had to sit at one) in the restaurant while employees wondered around (again) not actually doing anything. I observed this for more than an hour while on a business call. This is unacceptable. Management should be aware. This location is fading fast. Lost 2 customers, tonight.

Don't even think about placing a to go order here. Unfortunately, my experience with cafe rio was so bad that I don't plan on going back. I placed an order 45 min. Before the said pickup time. When I arrived I waited another 10 min. To get to the front of the to go live (yes there was a line for to go) where I was asked my name, paid, and moved to the waiting line of to go. It's now been 55 min since I placed this order originally. I waited another 30 min. Before I asked how much longer it would be and 2 more order were still ahead of me. When I finally got my order it was over an hour since I had first placed it. I placed it since I had a timed lunch from work and needed to grab something quick. There were people getting through the regular align faster than my wait was, which doesn't make sense. Sadly that experience combined with poor customer service doesn't make me want to go back.

Avoid this location! Service was very very slow. Had to place our order for a kids meal 3 times and they still got it wrong. The staff taking orders showed no urgency despite the lengthy line. I will definitely not be coming back to this location. Waited 45 minutes and the line was just over half way to the door. Should have been closer to 25 minutes.

Cafe Rio seems to think that they no longer have to worry about the type of service they provide from the obvious lack of care their employees give to customers. Every time I have phoned in an order at this location they never have my food ready when I arrive and twice now they have been out of salmon, but didn’t bother to inform anyone waiting. Tonight was the kicker, my wife received the worst service we have ever received from anyone in the service industry! The girl couldn’t be bothered to ring us up because she needed to go flirt with her boyfriend in the restaurant while a line of people behind us waited for her to return. When she finally did come back after making us all wait for her. She jumped on her cell phone in the middle of our transaction and stayed on the phone for the next several people. Rude People! Terrible organization! Don’t bother eating here!
