Carey hilliards has solid food and great service I don't eat seafood often but it's decent here. The waitress I had was probably one of the best I've come across in a while. I personally would recommend if you like barbecue or seafood come try it out and see for yourself I won't tell you it's the best place I've come across but certainly has its options.
Better experience than previously. Had guests in town and fortunately we hit them at a good time and day. Kudos to the chef that was working last Thursday late afternoon. Also, our server was great!!
Quick pickup. Went inside to pick up the food to make sure our order was correct. I only use their curb service if i want to eat outside. The only problem I had was there was an extra charge that I didn't notice on the receipt till I had already paid for it for1.99. And when I asked she said it was for the coleslaw. And I said when I ordered the sandwich I thought it came with two sides she said no it only comes with one. I told her they should tell you when you order that it only comes with one side. But I paid the $1. 99 for it no problem. *After opening the coleslaw was VERY SMALL in a bowl probably about 2-3 teaspoons. And I was given no ketchup for fries and no tartar sauce for the hush puppies. I guess I was supposed to ask for them I did ask for the honey mustard.
Always a great place to eat. I have been eating at Carey Hilliards since 1999 from Charleston SC now throughout the Savannah Ga area. The food has always been plentiful. I always get the Captains platter bcuz I am a seafood lover and yesterday I got the grilled salmon with 2 sides. Only if Carey Hilliards can come to Atlanta::. Per usual the food was amazing, shot out to the cook.
I don't know how recently you've been to a Carey Hilliard's, but if you're like me it's been a while, since I remembered them in general as being dark, dated, and frankly dingy. As such, it was an exceptionally pleasant surprise to walk into this location and be greeted with bright, open, updated decor. Service was excellent and the food was very good, especially considering how affordable it was just around $12 per person for 4 people. Would definitely dine here again!
The waitress was doing all that she could to make it a fine dining experience on Sunday. Whomever was cooking the food needs to be retrained. The old folks taught us to place love in what you cook. Too many are in such a hurry that the food comes out and there's no love in what is being served. Will not be returning!
The food was very good and our server was very nice and friendly. I ordered the small pulled pork plate with green beans and slaw. I was dining with 3 other gentlemen, and they had all finished their meals before my green beans were ever brought to the table. I finally ate the green beans and had finished them entirely before my pulled pork and slaw ever made it to the table. I'm not sure why that part of the service was so slow.
Every time we come through Savannah on our way to visit family, we stop at a Carey Hillards. We had such a great experience Thursday I wanted to share. We have made this meal our travel tradition each trip. The staff were very welcoming and organized. Food was great as always! We will be visiting again soon.
I have to order my chicken soft fried or else it is always cooked too hard. I requested a breast but got a keel. Fries were cold. The only plus is by ordering online it is ready when I get there. The place needs an upgrade. Ambience and atmosphere says old and out of date. Service is nothing to talk about either Kid-friendliness: Kiddie packs available for coloring and kid's meals available Parking: Plenty of parking
Took over 15 minutes for staff to acknowledge us. Waited another 10 minutes to be seated. Waitress was MIA several times. Restaurant was not packed. Just overall a poor experience on this trip.Food: 5/5
