This park is amazing! All the campsites and cabins are kept very tidy. Communal bathrooms are nice. There are many trails to explore within the park. The marina and other views of the water are stunning. The welcome center also has a fun, interactive exhibit. All the employees are always super helpful and friendly. The only con is that the park gates close at 9 PM (depending upon the season) and I think that's a little early, especially for those who are staying within the park for vacation. If you arrive back at the park after the gates have closed, you must park outside the gates and walk about a half mile to your campsite. This makes it difficult to have a night out, especially if you're planning on having a late one.

I love this campground because it's nearby Carolina beach and the sites are very secluded and wooded. Many sites have recently been upgraded to electric and water supply. There are also new cabins that you can rent. You can kayak and the nearby Snow's cut, either bring your own or rent them at the nearby Marina. Nice trails along the river as well.

Great location and a great place to spend Christmas. The gates close kinda early but the facilities were nice. The park was cool and there were nice trails to wander. Tons of campsites and nice campers from the people we met. We stayed 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. Wish the laundry was closer to the campground and that there were more machines since you're sharing with the boat "campers" with a single washer and dryer.

This place has done some nice upgrades in the past few years. They have cabins to rent and a new fishing dock. Trails are well marked out and easy to follow. No beach access is the only real down fall to this place. But I always enjoy walking the trails.

Only been here for a day hike. It's alright, not much to look at though. Kind of boring I suppose, but I had fun. Wish they had better maps though. I did get lost a bit, but the trails themselves are well marked. I mean, you probably won't lose the trail, but actually knowing which trail you're supposed to be on to get back is difficult. It wasn't really supposed to be a day hike, but ended up being one anyway due to getting lost and pretty much walking through the entire park before finding the parking lot. One of the info boards had very inaccurate information about Native Americans, which was disturbing but not surprising. Overall, not bad, not great (at least for hiking).
