Fantastic campground and lodge!  First off the lodge is a lodge, it is not a Holiday Inn hotel; so no, each room doesn't have a bathroom. However, the bathrooms are quite close to the lodge, connected by a wide covered boardwalk. The lodge has cabin/European style rooms and yes the TV was small....but we came to camp, hike, etc. ....not watch TV ( I was surprised there was a TV at all!). The lodge is very clean, inside and out. The staff were friendly and knowledgable (even when we disturbed them at all hours!). The large outdoor pavilion with fire pit and wood has ample seating for large or small groups. Shower/bathrooms which didn't have one spec of mold anywhere, were very clean, smelled clean and were fully functional with nice HOT water and great water pressure! We stayed in the lodge but toured the whole campground, since our usual choice is a tent site. Many of the tent sites were easily accessible by vehicle and well laid out; some had power and water, some were primitive. Also, it looked like they had several full sized RV sites right off the road. Incidentally, it had been raining the week we arrived and we didn't notice any standing water/mud. We will definitely be returning with our tent!!

We stayed there a couple of years ago.  It was fantastic!  The staff was so friendly.  They even opened the bar/restaurant so we could watch the Women's World Cup Finals.  We were there 4th of July & their fireworks display was awesome!  They even made homemade peach ice cream.  Great experience and close to the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Loved it!

The whole area in general is great, love the views and the river is just down the road from everywhere you go it seems. Recommend a visit for sure.

I stayed here in 2014 and loved it. The lodge was very nice with good food. But we just stayed this past weekend and it was awful. When booking the girl on the phone was very rude. I asked about our site from before which was 15 but they had made some changes to if that I wasn't excited about so she suggested 16. I  specifically asked if it had electric since I am 5 months pregnant and knew I wanted a fan and easier site set up but once we arrived and took 3 hours to set our site up I was then informed that 16 and 17 hadn't had electric for over a year and I had been lied to. It made for a very long and miserable weekend having to haul out air mattresses to get air in them and That is not an easy task getting to that site while very pregnant and carrying a heavy air mattress. And no compensation was offered. Also the lodge only has a couple food options only when hosting an event for the locals. The bath house was awful, mold on the ceilings, overflowing shower and very dirty.

The campgrounds are clean and the staff are very friendly. Some of the pull behind camper sites need to be leveled better but it didn't really bother us. Beautiful scenery, and low traffic in the area.
