Cheryl Burchell has been passionate about jewelry design for more than four decades. Her exclusive designs can be found near the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. What better place to bring her customers ideas to life than in Idaho, the Gem State? Idaho’s world-class bounty includes opals, agates, sapphires and star garnets.
Coeur d’Alene is the French name given to the Shee-Schu-Umsh Indians of northern Idaho during the early fur trading days. The French explorers’ name for them describes the “sharp” trading practices they found when dealing with the Shee-Schu-Umsh. Cheryl’s Heart Like an Awl® charm is her original design enterpretation of the French name Coeur d’Alene. Her creation has remained a favorite local jewel for 18+ years.
