My number one choice for a quick hike if you live in Columbus. The hemlock trail looks like you're hiking through Middle Earth. Go after (or during) a rain and you'll probably find some cool forest fungi!!!

I have visited this just one time and hiked about 4 miles. It feels more like a State park than a Metro park in both it's size and beauty. It's the prettiest Metro park I've seen.

This place was underwhelming. Granted, I went in the summer during the height of the cicada bloom. There were bugs everywhere. I had a tick on my arm after a mile. Bees were chasing me, and they were hard to get away from because of all of the tree roots in the path. Poison ivy and oak everywhere, almost unavoidable. The terrain is hilly and gives you a workout but nowhere near as scenic as Hocking Hills. There were a few pluses. I didn't see a single person on the trail (could be a minus if you fall and get hurt; no cell reception either). It was also a pretty strenuous hike (for Ohio). I also bet this place is gorgeous in spring/fall, but in the summer it is pretty miserable. Hocking Hills is much better, it just gets to crowded. I guess this place is for the overflow.

Never disappoints - beautiful, moderate incline, never run into too many people on the trails
