The following describes a visit to ClearChoice Dental Implant Center during April, 2017.  The purpose of the visit was to repair a crown for a dental implant on a front tooth.  Several issues occurred during this appointment. The dentist directly responsible for these issues was Ms. Amanda McPherson.   Included below are a subset of actions conducted by Ms. McPherson that illustrate ClearChoice performance shortfalls, questionable business practices and profound patient care concerns.  Particularly during the appointment Ms. McPherson had:
 
a)	Repeatedly failed to adequately adjust the patient’s bite alignment even after instructed by a ClearChoice manager to re-verify the adjustment due to a known bite overjet (i.e., orthodontic term referencing a bite pattern that causes bottom teeth clashing with inner sections of upper teeth).  Following the appointment, adjustment failure was evidenced by frequent pain and swelling within the implant region and adjacent teeth with the greatest severity following eating meals;

b)	Failed to prescribe a night guard and/or night guard adjustment to counter known bruxism (teeth grinding) consequently exacerbating pain, swelling and likely damage to the implant region including adjacent teeth;

c)	Conveyed arrogant, unprofessional and unethical remarks against another dental practitioner;

d)	Supervised a dental assistant to tighten the implant abutment (metal screw to attaching crown to jaw) for an x-ray while the patient had repeatedly requested that the abutment be immediately loosened or removed due to severe pressure and pain from the tightened abutment clashing against an adjacent tooth.  The assistant blatantly ignored these requests by refusing to remove the abutment until an x-ray was successfully completed;

e)	Demonstrated lack of talent and knowledge for ensuring an aesthetic restoration of the front tooth implant crown.  For example, Ms. McPherson was responsible for fabricating a crooked and odd-shaped front tooth crown.  She then spent approximately 7 minutes explaining that it would be “impossible” to adjust the flawed crown without major dental work.  The patient subsequently made an appointment with a competent dentist who effectively reshaped the flawed crown within 10 minutes resulting in a remarkable restoration and front teeth symmetry.  Within the same time frame the competent dentist had also corrected severe bite adjustment issues caused by Ms. McPherson (as referenced in (a) above).

Additionally, according to the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners, Ms. McPherson could not be verified as a licensed dental practitioner.  Ms. McPherson’s name has been prominently displayed as a dentist at the ClearChoice, Rockville, MD office location and ClearChoice web site.

This review may be shared with the general public to convey ClearChoice’s poor performance standards, questionable ethics and deficient medical practices.

I am so pleased with the service and the results of my implants.  ClearChoice Rockville location treated me with a level of professionalism that I had never experienced in a Dentists office.  Dr. Wilson's attention to detail with my results was extremely impressive.  Her assistant Linda Sibert also held the same expectations as Dr. Wilson when it came to my results and she made me feel very comfortable during the whole process.  If you are considering implants go to a place that does it 24/7!!! I would highly recommend ClearChoice of Rockville to anyone considering going through the implant process. Thank you!!

My name is Billye Lusk,  I had the best care ever at Clear Choice.  This place is a blessing.  I love all the people at the Woodlands office.  My personal favorite is Dr. Rhonda Jacob. She so impressed me with her
knowledge, her caring.  She noticed my bite was a little off and was causing my jaw to make a little noise at times. She took the time to refine my bite and make some adjustments removing just enough of an area where the bite was too high in.  The time she took doing this was not in my plan and had nothing to do with my implant.  She did this with no charge. This lady is brilliant.  I am so glad I found Clear Choice.

Very pleased with the results.  After many years, I can smile again.  The timeline to the final denture install seemed to take much longer than expected. October to August.  But the results were worth the wait.
The doctors and staff were terrific and make you feel like family.  Very glad I chose Clear Choice.

  I was very pleased with Clear Choice.  The customer service was exceptional and they treated me like an individual.  They really cared about  me.  My smile today is better than ever and I love my teeth.  I no longer look away from people.  Today I can look people straight in the eye.  Thanks Clear Choice!
