If you’re looking for authentic, flavorful, yet simple Cuban classics, look no further than Colada Shop. Everything about the location pays homage to Cuban culture, tradition, and style in ways that are far above the rest. The flavors behind the food are simple yet delicious and packed with taste. The drinks and coffee selections are excellent. Colada is a little slice of Havana right in the nation’s Capitol and it does not disappoint.

It’s a very intimate setting. Cafe con leche is very consistent since they measure their sugar drop with a scale which I personally really appreciate. It can be very busy tho especially on hot summer weekend

It really excited me to see such fantastic Cuban food in DC. Their pastelitos are pretty good, and they sell Coladas. Go. There. Now.

Excellent coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. I love the shared indoor/outdoor seated counter. Very nice tiled bathrooms upstairs.

This place has a cool atmosphere along with quick bites. We walked over for breakfast as commuters stopped by on their way to work. We walked in with some Latin beats playing, the smell of coffee upon entry at the door, and the cooks behind the counter getting the lunch menu prepared. We ordered a little taste of just about everything, since it was our last day in DC and the US for a short while. I wish I could have this every morning.
