Really excellent coffee bar in DC. Small Planes in the hopper, pulling 🔥 spro all day. These homies do it right.

The coffee was good, but I felt it was overpriced. There were very few places to sit, and most of them were taken by people camped out with their computers. If you are getting it to-go, maybe, but I wouldn't plan on staying here. Overall felt pretty unwelcoming, and with a lot of other independent coffee shops in DC, I don't really feel compelled to go back.

Peregrine is one the original and oldest local coffee shops in DC and I stand by my statement that they make the best latte in the city. If you don't believe me, stop by their second location on 14th Street NW and order one complete with some of the best latte art out of their three locations. All Peregrine locations are a tab smaller in size and this one is no exception. They have a table outside by their window, a few small tables inside near that same window, and a few tiny high tables along the brick wall. If you can find a table, get out that computer and log into their strong, free wifi (password is pilgrim1). They don't sell lunch or dinner, but they do have a solid pastry from Bluebird Bakery. I recommend their muffins or chocolate croissants. When America runs on Dunkin, DC runs on Peregrine.

Peregrine is pretty great. Has some of the most skilled baristas in the city. I'm really excited by the addition of Small Plains to the bean line-up.
