This place always surprises me. I start the day not knowing what I want to eat or where I want to go, and it ends up being the perfect place and experience every time. Just enough pizazz on the menu for it to be interesting but not over the top. Atmosphere is a perfect balance of comfortable, cute, work friendly, and able to bring your own fun or make a new bar pal. Bartenders are good and friendly.

I visited Commissary on a trip to DC, I went with my friend who lives in Washington DC and he is a frequent customer of this establishment.. The " Small plates & good stuff to share menu " is what we enjoyed.. great choice. The prices were incredibly affordable for the quality and plate size. The staff at Commissary were exceptionally accommodating, the atmosphere is very relaxed, and it was so great, we went back the next day :-) I Highly recommended it.

Neat place. A lot of charm and LGBTQ friendly with gender neutral bathrooms. My boyfriend and I loved it here. Food was amazing. If we ever visit DC again I would come here.

We stumbled into Commissary after a long flight from the West Coast. Little did we expect the sweet and cheerful service that waitress Sam delivered. 3 nights later we returned after walking out of a highly reviewed nearby continental restaurant. Again we were utterly delighted by the food and above all the service. Cheers to Sam!!
