Making Friends - Changing Lives!
Compeer has been active in Johnson County, IA has been creating supported friendships between volunteers and adults with long-term illness since 2002. We ask the two of you matched in a friendship to spend 4 hours per month together, enjoying activities you would with any friend. These often include taking a walk, getting coffee or going to lunch, going to a movie or whatever the two of you choose to do; it's up to you! The adults in our program are ready for friendship and look forward to having someone to share their life experiences and their joys and sorrows.
