I am tired. I am tired of calling, being given misinformation, driving 5 hrs there and 5 hrs back only to be told that the information I was given was wrong and that I have to do X, Y, and Z before being seen. I find it to be unacceptable to not know and relay incorrect information to people who have to spend time and money to get there. I am tired of the rudeness on the phone. I am tired of being talked to like they are trying to get me off of the phone as quickly as possible as if I am a bother to them. I am tired of leaving messages and not getting called back. The bad outweighs the good. I have dealt with two gentlemen there who have been very kind and very helpful, and I definitely give them credit where it is due! They are great! But, the rest: Nope. I. Am. Tired.

I applied for a Schengen Visa at this location. The response rate (both on e-mail and on leaving voicemail) is good. They promptly responded to all my inquiries and helped me find a good time to schedule the visa appointment. The directions on the website are also clear and concise. During the appointment, the consulate people were professional, friendly, and helpful. Overall, a pleasant experience!

First time I applied Schengen Visa at the Greece Consulate in Chicago. I had to make appointment by phone. I left a voice mail message, and Mr. Georgios Rougas, the Consulate Officer, called me back to set the date.  All the staff from the lady in the front desk up to the people in Consular Office were very friendly, polite, and professional, especially Mr. Rougas.  They allowed my husband to come up with me, even though there is a waiting room in the lobby. The second time I applied my visa (after fell in love with beautiful Greece on our first visit), I felt even more welcomed. As usual, all the staff members were friendly and helpful. I received my visa by mail in 5 working days after my visa interview. They are truly ambassadors for their Tourism and country.  Kudos!

Apperantly the consulate operates just like any other government agency in Greece, short work days, people have no manners, never call you back if you leave a message, and the amount of red tape you need to go thru is epic and truly a test of your nerves.... As usual this will never change with Greece.... I know... I was born there!

I applied a Schengen VISA thru here during the summer of 2017. Their online system is not very good and convenient but the staffs are very helpful. They called me back whenever I left a message. The gentleman at the VISA section was very friendly and professional. No complain!
