The worst service in the world. Such a bad representation of our country. PM Modi is working so hard to make Indian look good and these people are ruining all his hard work.

It just takes about 2-3 hours to apply for an American passport from start to end. Their process is extremely simple, easily understandable and feels confident while applying that I am not missing anything. I spend around 7 hours of my life to apply American passport for 3 kids. No issues anywhere.
Whereas now I am trying to do OCI paperwork and the process, documents, information are so dumb, frustrating and complicated. I have already spent around 40 hours but still not confident that my application is ready for submission. 
Who the hell has created their website which can not even find users information if logged back in after sometime? Why do they have temporary ID number and File reference number both? How many people actually understand to reduce the file size for finger prints, passport size photos, PIO card, foreign Passport etc etc? Every where conflicting and misleading information. No one answers phone or respond to email. They are totally like a black hole and are trying to suck us for no reason. 
Each and every steps have tons of rules .....shipping, labeling, checklist, COLORED photo copies of documents, notarization of each documents, fees and keep adding few more.
They do not want to understand how to make things simpler. If managers/ Govt. officials think that their job is just to sign few documents with a sip of tea and NOT thinking/doing anything to improve the process then the time has come to give chance who has more capable/eligible and have the attitude for improvements.    

So sorry to say but most of us are very very frustrated with the system.

Excellent service. We went over there for 3 miscellaneous services and got everything within 2 hours. It was really quick and the guy at the counter was helpful and fast in dealing the things.

They are pretty quick and efficient in their work.  For me they took an hour and half for the same service,  which is usually done by other consulates in minimum two weeks.

They are shaming India, some forms they have weird scanned document to download, which could be easily an online one or two page simple fill in form. their instructions are not clear. Call them at 09:45am nobody will pick until 10:30am, lack a professional attitude even though work for 09:30 to 05:30 only. Seems a bureaocrasy give no attention to work just enjoying job status.
5 star so that they can feel some shame.
