I called them closer to their closing business time to ask about my passport renewal. Like other government service offices, I was afraid that nobody would pick up my phone, since they might be busy finishing all paperwork before its close. Surprisingly, my call was answered within three ringings. The gentleman who answered my question was super friendly, polite, and gave me all the details and instructions. I have tons of questions and he patiently answered those and gave me all the tips. No rush at all. From all the embassies and consulates that I have been dealed with, this is the best service that I ever had. I finally got my passport renewed in one week without the need to drive to the Consulate! Kudos to the Indonesia Consulate in Chicago!

Unsatisfied service. They never answer my questions after several times i called them. They said that i should leave them message on the phone but they never reply. Even when they received my call, they couldn't give me any answer when i asked them something. Poor people, they are stupid!

The clerks were all patient and friendly, willing to answer any question or provide extra copies of the forms we needed to fill out. When we had to produce an SASE, we were given clear directions to FedEx, UPS, and the USPS as well.

After 4 hours drive including traffic, we finally arrived at the consulate place. We went there to get confirmation for our passport around 3pm and as soon as we got there, the person at the counter turn the closed sign and will not help us. He said that the counter closed at 3pm and we argue that the automated answering machine said they open from 9 to 5pm. Then he replied, the office open until 5pm but they are not doing any paperworks services. Now we wonder, what are they doing there from 3 to 5pm then? I know! Just stand around and look busy until it's time to go home, it's not like they took an hour and a half for lunch...
