Story

The towering flat-topped ridge of Mesa Verde National Park rises less than 15 minutes away from this KOA near the four corners where Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah meet. After visiting the 700-year-old cliff dwellings in the park's canyon walls, return to your own high desert oasis. Swim in the heated pool or round up a game of basketball or horseshoes. Enjoy the 1-mile walking trail around Denny Lake (with fishing along the trail) and the 3-acre enclosed dog park. If you want a taste of Native American life, stay overnight in one of the campground's tepees. Stock up on supplies and souvenirs in the grocery store and gift shop. Take a day trip to Utah's Monument Valley, the setting for several of John Wayne's most famous Westerns. In addition to Mesa Verde, Native American life is chronicled at Hovenweep National Monument and the Anasazi Heritage Center.

Rude. Came in late and over paid with cash since I didn't have exact change. $57 for full hook up site. Ridiculous. Even more astonishing was the 10:30 check out time. At 10:45 we were loading into our truck and the golf cart guy asked if we planned on staying and paying for another night since it was after check out. What?!? Washers were dirty and two of the dryers only blew cold air. $1.75 a load for wash and. 25 cents for every 6 minutes on the dryers. Sooo over priced. Never stopping here again and I don't recommend.

Friendly staff, super clean and quiet with pretty landscaping. Pride of ownership is evident throughout the campground. Bathrooms and showers are spotless with music piped in through hidden speakers. Nice gift shop/camp store attached to warm and inviting office area. Very impressed!

Baffelingly Bad Customer Service. Site looked nice and we checked in without problem. My surge protector indicated a wiring problem - I politely informed the office and things got weird. The first response was to move to a different site which seemed reasonable. Then the owner/manager drove by and told us to leave the campground. No explanation as to why we had to leave. Given it is peak season it was stressful comping up with an alternate place to stay (I made the reservations 3 1/2 months in advance). Suggest camping somewhere that does not wig out over a minor complaint. Update: Contacted KOA and here is their response: Hi Rich, Reservations are handled directly by each independently operated campground. The corporate headquarters is not at liberty to become involved in day-to-day business operations of the individual campgrounds. We apologize for the experience you have described regarding your stay. Please know that this experience is not indicative of the experiences you will have at other KOA campgrounds. Sincerely, Becky KOA Camper Services

A great place to stay, one night was only $46 for tents with water and electricity hookup. There are clean bathrooms with showers and the laundry room is packed with machines. Furthermore there is a pool and a playground for kids. Everything was tidy and management was sincere. Would stay again.

This KOA is well run and clean. The late check in is fun. The hosts have made a wooden BBQ Grill table for you to fill in the check in registration. I stayed here one night, then stayed at the Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde NP the next night. If I could do it over again, I would have just stayed at this KOA two nights in a row. Great value and good location.
