Joined a self defense class with zero experience. Staff is great and the environment is comfortable. I was worried at first being so inexperienced, but they are patient and work with you. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in taking up some sort of self defense or martial arts. You would be surprised how capable you already are, you just need the help and instruction to get there.

Defensive edge mma and as a whole is by far at least one of the best things thats ever happened to me. I still am very new only 2-3 months in but I already feel apart of the team and family as they welcome me and everyone with open arms. All the instructors are great and very knowledgeable especially sensei Rick, it is a great environment and not only does this teach me a lot of mma skills i also learn life skills/lessons and most importantly to me its helped me get out of the very bad place i was mentally a few months back and for that I cant thank them enough and I know i will be there for years to come and always have a special place in my heart for it, if you are considering any martial art this is the place to go 110%

Went there to attend a class. Class seemed OK. After class I got a phone call from the instructor saying that other people at the place were complaining about my tattoos(my tattoos are more right wing nationalist kind of stuff). I was basically asked to either cover up or don't return. Defensive edge does not want your business if you are not a liberal. Disgusting and hypocritical. Unprofessional. Go someplace with an open mind to learn self defense, not to a place of bigots.

I've been a member of the gym for about two months now, but as soon as I took the first class I loved it. All the instructor's at the gym are very nice and always welcome new students. They have all different kinds of martial art classes ranging from little kids to adults. I absolutely recommend this gym to anyone, whether you want to do it competitively or for a hobby.

I started going to Defensive Edge around February 2016. All of the instructors here take a lot of pride in their work and make sure that everyone is understanding what is being taught. (I've been doing the RMA, muay thai, and mma classes here) The owner, Rick, has warm-ups for the mma class that I can tell as we're doing them that they are directly related to bettering your form and strengthening it as well. I have been to a few other fighting/boxing gyms in the area and Defensive Edge place is the most legit place there is in the area.
