The car was great. The counter is in the airport and cars are steps away. Drop off was very easy and took less than 10 minutes. Pick up however for me was not as enjoyable. The car was paid for I just needed to give the card for incidentals. My bank shut my card off for possible fraud because I was out of state trying to use it and I didn't tell them. My fault yes but the employee here just said my card "wouldn't work for this type of transaction" he made it sound like I needed a real credit card which I did not have. I got really upset and finally decided to call my bank and found out what was wrong. So I go back to the same guy and he gives me the rental details and tells me I "should" save time on return and don't fill the tank and they can charge me the same as the gas station. So just to be amenable I said ok and he hands me a bill for over $90 so I'm getting upset again and say I all ready paid for the rental what is this bill. He waits a bit and tells me it's for the gas. I have to pay before. Of course it was way more expensive than an actual tank of gas. Everyone knows you fill the tank before you return the car or you get ripped off but this guy made it sound like a service and basically lied about the price. So I said no I'll fill the tank and he puts a $10 hold on my card like he should have done in the first place and I'm finally on my way. I have no idea what his problem was but he wasted over 30 minutes of my limited time on arrival in Nashville and totally stressed me out.

Sunday, Sept 24, 2017: We arrived at Nashville Airport and went straight to the Dollar Rent a Car counter. After standing there for quite a while, with no help in sight, I called Dollar's toll-free number to see if we could get help. Meanwhile, my husband walked to the next booth (Thrifty) where two employees were standing. One was helping a customer, the other (the man in the photo I posted) was simply standing there with a cup in his hand. My husband had seen the young man looking at him a couple times, but since he didn't make a move to walk over, we assumed he did not work for Dollar. WRONG! My husband finally walked to the Thrifty counter to ask if anyone was working at Dollar and the same young man headed over to help. We had reserved a specific vehicle, but the employee would not verify what type of vehicle we had. In fact, he was not helpful at all. When we finally arrived at the garage to pick up the vehicle, the young man, Adam, behind that counter was the total opposite. He was the most helpful employee and needs to be recognized for his outstanding customer service! I'm giving the man at the counter a "0" for customer service, and giving Adam a "5!" Average for Nashville Airport Dollar Rent a Car is "3." Maybe Adam should be greeting customers and the man behind the terminal counter should be washing cars. Rating would improve. :-)

Absolutely atrocious customer service. We rented a car over Christmas and the man working the counter was rude and unprofessional from the moment we walked up. Something was wrong with his credit card reader, so he took a separate card to hold the reservation and manually entered the supplemental information himself, having us verbally answer questions before signing. He asked questions I have never had to answer during a car rental (like social security number?) and was overall rude and condescending. When we returned the car, the cost was double what we were quoted, and we noticed that insurance had been selected by the employee upon receiving the car, despite declining coverage in the reservation (Expedia) and retrieval of the car. The manager gave us his number to reach him to settle the issue once we flew home, which turned out to be wrong. We not only got an incorrect voicemail using this number, but he never followed up as he stated he would after the holidays. Several run around phone calls later, with local and corporate representatives sending us to automated dead ends or incorrect recipients, the issue has still not been resolved. They say that because they have my signature, I agreed to the insurance, even though I never was given the option to review things on the keypad, and the employee clearly added the charges (whether mistakenly or intentionally) himself. Any other company would have checked records, questioned the employee as to what happened that day, or at the very least, offered options to make this situation right.

Had a very poor customer service experience with this company. We rented a Yaris on a trip to Nashville and were shocked to get a $120 charge upon returning the car as we were charged $9.99/gallon to refuel the vehicle. Upon calling customer service all the blame was put on the customer for not reading the fine print. We were at the airport, had travelled for hours, were in a different time zone and were exhausted. If you are going to charge me 3x what a normal rate is for something you should VERBALIZE that, use a highlighter to highlight that on the contract and have someone initial beside it and then not blame the customer. Will never use them again.

Terrible, horrible, laughably bad customer service. Desk agent was rude and insulting, explained nothing, and applied unwanted insurance to the tune of $170.94. When we returned, the manager said he would look into it....still no word. Called customer service and they tried to buy us off with $50. SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES. This company is a joke. Do not rent from Dollar.
