My daughter plays competitive soccer. We've seen Dr. Richards a couple of times now for sports-related injuries and issues. What I love about the office is that 1) They're very quick. We haven't spent a lot of time waiting in-office. You're in and then out fairly quickly. 2) Dr. Richards seems to be more of a minimalist. He's a parent, and he's very aware of costs and different life styles. He's willing to recommend meds and procedures if there isn't a better alternative, but does emphasize the how-tos and whys very, very thoroughly-- the pros and cons of, for example, physical therapy in any office (didn't specifically recommend their own office-- said he could refer us to someone closer to our home, etc.), versus working on exercises at home. 3) He takes his time diagnosing issues and then explaining everything to a lay person like me (and, I suspect, most of the visitors to his office). 4) He's very kid-friendly. Again, he's a father, and it shows. He's very genuine, friendly, fun, and talks directly to my daughter-- as well as me. Takes his time answering questions, doesn't seem to be in a hurry, and I definitely don't feel rushed in his office. He knows his stuff, and I'm really glad we found him :) I'd recommend his office and him specifically to anyone with a sports-related injury-- especially one with kids.

With an active family, we've seen Dr. Richards a few times. He's very knowledgeable and competent and friendly. His office is well run, wait times are reasonable. I recommend him to anyone with sports medicine needs.

Dr. Richards instantly diagnosed a chronic problem I have had for years. The surgeon he referred me to was shocked that he had figured out that I had compartment syndrome in the lower legs so quickly. Dr. Richards has been my go to doctor for difficult sports medicine problems.

I went to see Dr. Richards back in March of 2017. I had an Achilles tendon injury which he suggested I try a new procedure, a platelet injection shot. I work in the healthcare profession and did a little research of my own and it seemed harmless and new age approach to a chronic injury. I thought why not. It's not covered by your insurance and costs around 350$ per shot. Pricey. I got the injection and instantly new something was wrong. Dr. Richards had split my tendon and tore a portion of the middle of it, which he admitted to doing since he was video taping it for research. No apology was given nor any remorse shown. He simply said that I was part of the 1% where things could go wrong (which i signed a waver), that I would need another injection and that the recovery time had just doubled. As I'm leaving the clinic, they issue you a walking boot. You don't pay for it there, you get billed from a third party, which is national dme. I received a collection letter for the boots for 156$! I never received an invoice from this company ever! Which is a side note but this clinic works closely with them. These boots typically go for 50$, try St. Marks above the ER if you're looking for one. We were told by the national dme that our insurance would pay for it. We are now fighting a late charge of 60$, grand total 216$ because we were told incorrect information. The company went straight to the collection letter! Such a joke. I had a friend who recently saw Dr. Richards and he recommended the same procedure to her. I told my friend to run away. Save yourself the trouble and don't go to this clinic. I'm still dealing with my injury (and a overdue charge from a unethical company) and feel like I finally got it back to where it was before the injection last month.
