I arrived at the Emergency room via Ambulance with severe pain of unknown origin. I'm thankful that I came to them because they were patient and professional and they quickly assessed my situation and gave me relief from the pain. This led to a test which discovered a kidney stone. I was released with medication and a clear understanding of what to expect. Two days later all was well. Thanks!

I had never even heard of El Camino hospital before my surgery, which was earlier this week. Let me just say this: I had no idea that this kind of hospital service actually existed. I am SO impressed. Now it's got me thinking, just WHY is it that thoughtful care, something that should be expected, is instead a rare commodity? It shouldn't be, and it doesn't have to be. I suppose that we get so used to accepting mediocre care from the big hospitals, that we assume it is the norm. ...If you can even call it "care". I don't. (You know who you are, giant medical conglomerates starting with "K"!). Speaking from my own experiences, and pior to my experience with El Camino hospital, I had been conditioned for years to just accept the notion that the way a typical hospital operated was out of necessity, and was with the same kind of mechanical efficiency that a fast-food restaurant might use to crank-out burgers. Only instead of burgers, it's all about shuffling thousands of patients around, with little if any real thought or priority placed on the individual patient's experience. The difference that I'm talking about here is not at all subtle, it is dramatic and immediately noticeable. Every single hospital staff member that I came in contact with during my brief stay at El Camino hospital were beyond "efficient", or "nice" (though they were that too). They were down right memorable. They simply make it a point to make sure that you are completely comfortable, both mentally and physically. In fact they go out of their way to make sure. From the polite and cheerful nurse I just happened to pass in the hallway, to the multiple nurses who actually attended to me, to the anesthesiologist, even down to the security officer who took care of my valuables while I was in surgery - ALL were exemplary in every way. I enthusiastically give El Camino Hospital (Los Gatos) the highest possible Google rating and my personal recommendation.

My daughter came in after an auto accident to the ER the nurse she got was was a CU&T with a capitol C! The nurse was talking down to my daughter, acting judgemental, and trying to pick a fight. The staff in the ER is hit or miss, but this was beyond miss. This woman should be fired. She upset my daughter so much arguing with her that my daughter walked out without getting the medical attention she needs and did not want to seek needed medical attention anywhere else. The nurse is lucky she didnt treat me that way, the out come for her would have been much different!
