Please disregard all the bad reviews you read below. I was there in January to do paperwork regarding my and my son's passports. I was met Up Eman who is an incredible person with the greatest attitude and professional approach. Her willingness to help and extend any help she can was beyond what I would have expected. She was an amazing person who is willing to do anything in her power to help anyone she can. Then we worked with Jin who was also a very professional and very kind person who helped us finish what we needed. Overall the experience we had was amazing, people are very professional and all exhibited an amazing attitude. God bless them all as they are the best representatives to our great country. We can not thank them enough for their help and support.

In short words; DC location - worst attitude - zero professionalism - 4 hours per day only, good luck making it on time if you live 6 hours away from DC. - they never pick up the phone. You have to physically submit and then follow up on your submitted paperwork (no one picks up the phone and no electronic exchanging whatsoever). - Worst website ever! - visa form is oldstyle and you cannot type in the information, you have to fill 2 copies by hand and you cannot scratch a mistake or typo, instead you have to re-fill the entire form by hand!! - no online payments - no submission of anything electronically. Its simply worst experience with an official entity. Go try for yourself if you don’t believe me. At least try calling their phone number indicated online or any other phone number they claim they have, i bet you will never ever get your call answered, let me know if they do!!

Going to the Egyptian embassy in Washington DC was the worst experience With an official bureau in my entire life. The lack of professionalism is mind boggling. The attitude of employees there is indescribable!! They never pick up the phone, try it yourself, call their phone number indicated above or any known phone numbers for this location and you will never get your call answered. I had to deal with an Asian lady who works there, with all due respect to all Asian people, this particular lady was so rude to me even though I did nothing but asking her regular questions regarding my paperwork. Moreover, the next window lady, an Egyptian youn women her name is Eman, I couldn’t help but noticing that she was rude to her customer too. Eman basically told her customer that he was too stupid to understand her instructions, with a loud tone! I know that this sounds insane, but I swear it happened. The entire paperwork system is so retarded and backward. If you want to fill up a visa application you have to navigate through a very chaotic website and when you find it you cannot use your keyboard to fill in your information then print it out, like 99% other forms in the world in 2018, instead you have to download a very old typewriter-copy and fill two copies using classic method, handwriting pen. If you make a mistake or a typo, you have to trash the entire form and start all over again. You cannot submit anything online, you have to drive to there (DC) yourself and submit forms, payments, missing documents in person, doesn’t matter if you live 4, 5, 6 or 7 hours away, you have to go physically and submit the paperwork over there, and when you’re there you face a very bad attitude, and then you have to keep going physically back to the Embassy over and over to follow up on your application, because they never send you anything online and they never pick up the damn phone! This place is hell!! In addition to all of the above, their work hours are from 9 AM to 1 PM (4 hours only) , so if you live four or five hours away, best of luck to you to make it there in this time window, otherwise you have to spend the night in DC (pay premium charges for a hotel and parking) and hopefully you can make it there in the next morning. I am deeply saddened that a country with such a great history, like Egypt, end up with such a dysfunctional embassy and such unprofessional, bad-attitude employees to represent its people and its tourism-hungry country, in the world’s first and most important capital, WASHINGTON DC!!

I wish I could post a 0 stars! For starters, me and my family traveled over 5 hours to get some simple paperwork handled and were treated very poorly. Eman, the lady that worked there was VERY RUDE! She was very disrespectful to her elders and had no patience to help us with our problem. Which I must mention we would not have had if the lady that we spoke to TWICE prior to coming had not told us the wrong information over the phone. Only for us to find out that the lady we spoke with was in training and no longer worked there and, they were not trying to own up to her mistakes nor was anyone there trying to help us with the simple paperwork we needed. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional and disrespectful staff member. Eman was very impatient and she quickly got an attitude. She was making rude comments to my family & when we asked to speak to a superior she was unwilling. I can not believe an embassy located in the United States of America would hire people with such unethical, unhuman and the unprofessionalism we dealt with today. Such a disgrace to the Egyptian people and to the country of Egypt! Oh and I must included that as we were sitting there trying to discuss our options, someone decided to smoke a cigarette inside the "professional" building! My mom has serve asthma and as my aunt waved the smell from her face Eman, made a rude comment as if she offended! Horrible experience. Looks like they need a whole who staff and a new person in charge!

I was trying to call the D.C. office because the I needed to get clarification on information from the website. Voicemail message says to call between hours of 9a-1p. If I press '0' to reach the Embassy switchboard, another message says to office hours are M-F, 9a-5p. On the website, it says that Phone lines operate from 2:30pm to 5:00pm ONLY. Finally was able to leave a message from calling ph# posted on Facebook page! They are also saying that non-Egyptians are NOT able to get visas upon arrival in Egypt. I don't think that is correct.
