Forbes Tavern is for Americona Foodies. Old school vibe with a friendly staff. Had the all beef Dog with chopped onion, Smoked Wings, and Seasonal Salad. Everything tasted great. Enjoy!
Good food with decent service. It has a tavern feel but cleaner than your average tavern. I'd go back Kid-friendliness: Not so much Parking: Pay street parking.
Loved our visit here. Smaller place but comfortable place to grab some drinks and watch the game. We tried a few different food items and each were good. The service was really good as well. We'll return for sure when visiting.Food: 5/5
Nice little bar to tuck into... The steak frites say they're served with chimichurri but they're not. I even asked the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen... Came back and said she watched the chef put more on... But there absolutely was none. I suspect they don't know what it is... Nevertheless, the Brussels sprouts were great, the fries were good, and the steak was fine. Good beer too.
This place is great. Their French onion soup is delicious; the Caesar salad is phenomenal. I haven't had a bad experience yet. The service is always great-- the owner, cooks, servers are all nice and personable. It's not really a "quick" lunch, but if you have a little extra time, this is a great place to grab a bite. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the front door opens directly into the dining area, which isn't bad during the spring and summer, but on cooler days, the cold air gets sucked in and you can catch a chill. I've had to wrap my scarf around my shoulders because I got so cold, or sometimes I've kept my coat on because of the chill, but that can be quite cumbersome. The music selection is awesome. Takes me back to my college days! I will continually go back!
Although not a huge restaurant the food was fantastic. My son and I came in town to watch a hockey game and he wanted a burger. This place did not disappoint, the burger was delicious, I had a flat bread which was higher quality than what you would expect at a bar. Most importantly however was the staff. The waitress was incredibly friendly and welcoming and that means everything to me.
We had our wedding after party at Forbes Tavern, and it was an awesome experience from beginning to end. Chef Cam was super enthusiastic about hosting us there, and was very responsive and helpful throughout the planning process. He helped suggest food options and the venue was super reasonably priced to rent out. The after party was a blast - the food was delicious and the bartenders were super attentive and fun. Everyone had a great time - we'd highly recommend having an event at Forbes Tavern!
I had the Cheeseburger with cheddar. It was quite good. In addition, the bar had Strongbow on tap. I really enjoyed the food and the drinks. The server was helpful and quick as well. I would be happy to go back and get the same thing.Food: 5/5
Very Hometown bar feeling. Monday after-work crowd, good vibes flowing! Quick and friendly service.
I’ve been coming to Forbes Tavern for a while now. Everything on the menu is delicious, but the service is even better. So many different choices of draft beers, and my husbands favorite kinds of bourbon!!!!!! Hosting my birthday party here, and hopefully many more events. You can definitely call me a regular.
