Such a cool place. I had no idea there was a fort still standing. Enjoyed walking in the footsteps of those long gone soldiers. Beautiful camp ground and picnic area. Carson river runs along side. Huge trees and beautiful valley. Great place to picture wagon trains bringing settlers to the west. A must see for all Americans.

I felt it was very informative enjoyed the museum. My husband can't walk long distances so we just drove around the ruins. I think there should be a reduced fee for this that are just there for a lite over an hour or so maybe a donation.

It's a shame not to gather the various groups together to fix it up. I loved seeing all one's fight of history to where we our today. I would of looked around more but it got so cold, but I will be back!

Quiet paths along the cemetery, ruins and the river. Step back in time. Pony Express post here. Excellent value for families. Ample parking for cars, rvs, and buses.
