Not a good experience.

When they give me a haircut, I'm satisfied.  The rest of the experience is lousy.  That combination earns them a 1 star rating from me.

I've been to Great Clips before, at least 4 different local locations.  I don't have much hair, and don't ask for much - just run the clippers over my head to make everything appears to be even length.  Simple.  All I want is convenience and quickness.  I always use the feature to check in online at Great Clips.  You walk in, they ask your name and if you checked in online.  Easy process.

But not today.  The app said this location had a zero wait time.  Perfect.  I checked in, drove 2 miles to the place and walked in.  There were 4 people waiting.  My name was on the display, 4th in line.  I plan to wait a couple of minutes.  After about 5 minutes I can see only one of the 4 people in line has been serviced, so I walk to the grocery store next door and use the ATM.  Back to Great Clips, and nothing has changed.  I check e-mail, add an appointment to my calendar.  No change still.  I log into an application and look for an update on a work matter.  Still no change.  I check my watch, wait 5 more minutes.  No change, so I leave.  Total (wasted) time in this Great Clips: 25 minutes.  What annoys me the most is that no one said a word to me.  No greeting, no update, no "please get out of my way".  Nothing.  There appeared to be at least two other stylists on duty, wearing  smocks and all that.  They grouped together and talked about next week's schedule, one person made a phone call.  But there wasn't time to greet this customer.

This Great Clips is 2 miles from my house, so it could be very convenient. 
 But they apparently don't care too much about the customers.  So I'll vote with my wallet and visit another Great Clips location that can have the courtesy to say something to me when I walk in the door.

I've taken my 3 year old here consistently for the past 2 years and it really depends on who you get. But today is my last straw and we will not be back. I sent my husband and my son to get hair cuts and my son came home looking ridiculous. Thinking it was just a communication issue, I took him myself for his next haircut. I brought the woman a picture of my son with the exact hair cut I wanted, which had been done at that very same salon months before, I explained in detail exactly what I wanted. For the second time in a row, she completely ignored what I asked and just went with it. I'm furious. Not even an apology. Look out for Pam if you visit this place

I brought my 4 year old son here for a haircut. The lady put the cape around his neck so tight that it made him gag! She quickly took it off and I made sure he was ok and gave her another chance. She did it again!  It was so tight it made him spit up! My 4 year old had tears running down his face, not because he was crying but because he basically just got choked. No apology from the lady whatsoever but she was decent enough to finally go get me a towel so I could clean my son off. She then had the audacity to ask me, in an extremely rude tone if he was sick with the flu or something! Really!? You clearly just gagged him TWICE.. you don't think that had anything to do with it!? I then proceeded to tell her "no he's not sick, that cape was way to tight around his neck!" Still no apology from her she just says "oh.. I couldn't tell how tight it was." WOW. Enter at your own risk if you're an adult but I would NOT take your kids here!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Boy it must be whom you get, I just had the worst hair cut of my life there. Girl was more worried about gossiping with the others then paying any attention to my hair cut. She whipped through my hair so fast with the clippers that she stalled the trimmer three times. Each time pulling hard on my hair. Then she moved to the smaller trimmer and did the same twice more. She wanted to chat the whole time and I told her I was really tired. And she actually told me no it sounds like your really crabby. After jerking on my hair with the trimmers over and over I guess I was starting to get crabby!  She was so proud and announced after 5 minute that she was done and how did it look. I pointed out that my bangs were way too long, she did a little snip and I pulled them down straight and said they were still way to long. She actually stepped back and threw her arms down and said WELL JUST EXACTLY HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT ME TO CUT OFF!!! I said I will just do it myself got up and left! I went home and my wife said your hair looks terrible. 
I will vote with my feet and never go back there!!!

This is my go to place for haircuts.  After trying (all) the expensive salons in the south county area and getting mediocre to awful cuts, my daughter , a teacher, recommended Rachel who does her hair perfectly. I started going there a year ago having Rachel cut my hair.  I have never been disappointed. I usually go every 4 to 6 weeks.  The other employees are also very nice making you feel welcome.
