For a town the size of Sioux Falls this is a very decent zoo. It's well-kept and has a good variety of animals and exhibits. Some exhibits, like the penguins, for example, could use an overhaul. The carousel is great, the train isn't worth it as most of the views you get are of a fence and not of animals/exhibits. Overall, though, this is a clean zoo with interesting things for just about everyone. The taxidermy collection is definitely an impressive one!

In the summer this place is packed with good reason. There is a lot to see and do and plenty of space for the kids to run around. With the new bear exhibit under construction the walking flow is somewhat disturbed but manageable. At Halloween, the Boo at the Zoo will have as line across the parking lot. The museum has a rotating yearly exhibit like dinosaurs or brain play which can be good fun indoors when the weather outside is crummy. A Membership is definitely worth it.

This is a nice zoo that you can get through in about three hours. The activities vary depending on the season and the day so make sure to check on this before you go. During the summer on the weekends they have some good options for eating lunch. They have a small train ride and a carousel. A nice petting zoo. The museum is good as well, and doesn’t take too long to get through. You can also bring in food and drink.

They know nothing about service animals. I am type 1 diabetic and they said papers are needed. There are no such things as papers. He was standing by my side, when the girl behind the counter decided to try and get me kicked out all because she knew me from high school. Do not recommend there is nothing to look at here either.

Visited near the end of Feb for my daughters birthday, was sold tickets at full price, in total less than 20 different animals were out to be seen, aside from the ducks which had pooped everywhere. Giving 2 stars because there was a animitronic dinosaur exhibit that I still had to pay an extra 3 dollars per person for but was actually really good. Looked like a decent size zoo and have good hopes of returning during the summer when they are finished with construction.
