My friend and I visited during Black Gay Pride. All the clubs where the "hottest" parties were going on were charging an arm and a leg to get in and we were running low on cash so we went with the Green Lantern which had no cover that night and decent online reviews. It's not fancy, but the staff was nice and the crowd seemed friendly enough. We met some interesting people, enjoyed the dance floor, and had decent drinks.

We only went to this bar one night during a short stay in Washington. On the face it this bar may not seem like anything special tucked away in a back alley, but we had a great time. It was midweek, but still relatively busy and clearly had a number of locals frequent the bar. Very friendly and a good place to start the evening for a couple of drinks.
