This is one of my favorite state parks. Every year my family has our family reunions here and we have had it there for the past 20 years. They have the best campsites that I have experienced in a state park. There campsites are secluded and you're not right on top of each other. There are trees and gaps in between the campsites so you feel like you have privacy. The bathrooms here are also really nice. I will warn you if you are on the opposite end from where the bathrooms are it is a pretty far walk to get to them. The trail and Hikes are really nice and the lake is beautiful. I highly recommend going here.

Great park. They have numerous picnic tables with grills and even some pavilions. As the name states, it use to be the site of an old iron furnace. The furnace is still there and can be walked right up to. During the spring/summer/fall months, it always seems like there is some activity happening there. Whether it's park organized, or put together by an outside group. Lots of fun opportunities. The swimming area and beach are nice for the size of the park. All the facilities seem to be very well maintained.

Beautiful setting! We've visited Greenwood only in the fall since it's one of a limited number of state park campgrounds open after late October. Almost all of the campsites are spacious and the showerhouse is heated for those mornings like we had on this visit -- sub-20 degrees. Two much smaller parks -- Penn Roosevelt and Whipple Dam -- are just 10-12 miles away and are worth visiting.

Perfect Day Trip! Hiking paths and attractions are well labeled, their facilities are modern and clean. Swim in the beach, wade in the creek, use the walking & hiking paths, use their renovated pavillions, gawk at the historical furnace and lake spillway, play volleyball, baseball, or horseshoe, or use one of their 250 picnic tables.

This is a really nice place to come and while away an afternoon. There are hiking trails that range from an easy 1/4 mile or so loop around the lake to, well, as long as you want to walk really. From here you can string together hikes staying almost entirely on trails (rather than dirt roads) that are pretty much as long as you want to go. If you're really hardcore you can through-hike the 68 miles to Cowans Gap State Park. For a more leisurely time you can sit on the beach and soak up some sunbeams, or just take a gentle amble around the park and enjoy the wildlife.
