Nice hotel, and a good spot just north of the river. Clean rooms, and clean lobby. Breakfast is free, and has a meat choice, waffles, and an "omelette". Not really sure if I have tasted "egg" like that. But free and satisfying. Staff was very pleasant. And loved the free coffee and hot chocolate. As is the issue with the other Hampton on Michigan Avenue north, the elevators are a mess. There are three, but only one is ever in use. At breakfast and checkout, it is nearly impossible to use an elevator. You can use the stairs, but you can only go down. A locking gate prevents you from using them to go up. And that scares the hell out of me. If for some reason I had to get back up to the room in a hurry, there is no way to do it with the elevator situation. The main reason for the three star review. In the hotel's attempt to lock down the hotel for safety, they seem to have created another safety issue as a result. This could easily be solved if they would allow all three elevators to run at all times.

This is a nice, simple hotel. We were able to check in quickly and a bit early as well. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The hotel was very busy when I stayed and I felt that everything was still running very smoothly. The free breakfast was wonderful and there was plenty to eat, even towards the end of the breakfast time. The only downside was that the hot tub was not working, a major bummer for me.

This was a fantastic hotel. Our room was very nice, clean and roomy. We had a suite. Breakfast at the hotel was great. Lots of choices and very convenient. Hotel was close to lots of great places to eat!

Very nice for a city hotel. I tend to find hotels in big cities as less personable and losing that extra touch of hospitality due to the high traffic. The staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and clean. Easy to get to and in a great part of the city. Breakfast was mediocre but better than most free hotel breakfasts. Would recommend.

This is a great hotel. Nice breakfast, roomy rooms, great location. Only minus is the pull out couch in king suite. Planned on having the king bedroom for ourselves (me and hubby) but pull out couch is unusable....so bad. So, that makes 4 of us on the king bed:( word of advice, if this is your plan with your family, the suite is great but you really can't use the couch as a second bed.
