Story

Highlands Automotive was opened in Branson Missouri by owner Pedro Rodriguez in the winter of 2009. Pedro was a trained mechanic who had been repairing cars since he was old enough to hold a wrench. During high school he signed up for all the available mechanic classes and after graduating he attended the Toyota Technical Educational Network auto mechanic school where he graduated in 1996. While still in school he was hired by Kendal Toyota which was the largest Toyota dealer in the United States. Pedro put his classroom learning to use doing repairs at the Florida dealership.

In 2001 Pedro was asked to come to work for Dade County. The county had over 6,000 vehicles made up of all makes and models including cars, trucks, vans and SUV’s. Pedro expanded his knowledge of auto repair in his years working on all these vehicles. Throughout his career he has kept up to date with new technology and repair methods by attended numerous training classes and schools.

In 2009 his family decided to move to Branson Missouri. His wife worked for the Hilton Hotel chain and they offered her a job at the Branson location. After coming to Branson for a visit they quickly fell in love with the area and decided the friendly people and good family environment would be a good place to raise their girls.

Pedro quickly took steps to open his own auto repair business and by 2009 he was licensed and ready to open to the public. Since that time Pedro and his employees have helped thousands of Branson’s motorists stay on the road. Highlands Automotive has developed a reputation for competitive prices, quality work and honesty.

Highlands Automotive takes its name from a ministry Pedro started in 2008 called Highlands Ministries which is helping the native people of Ecuador who live high in the Andes Mountains. Each year Pedro leads three mission teams to the small mountain village of Quislag, Ecuador where his ministry has built a church for the surrounding area to attend. These poor people who live high in the Andes Mountains have almost been forgotten by the world, but Pedro and Highlands Ministry continues to bring the news of Jesus Christ’s love to these wonderful people.
