I have no affiliation with Honda of Santa Maria or anyone who works there. But, due to my recent experience with Rome, a salesman employed there, I'm justly compelled to share my experience with him so far. And, in my opinion, he represents the dealership. I've been 'just looking' to buy a car for a few weeks now. Almost all of my contact has been with salespersons via the phone due to long distances from the dealerships. Understandably so, I don't get taken as seriously shopping by phone, compared to physically walking onto that lot. Until I met Rome. Our initial contact was my call inquiring about a car posted on the internet by Honda of Santa Maria. I informed him that there were only three photos of the car, none of those of the engine, that I wished to see. I explained that due to my distance, I needed many more detailed pictures of the whole car, to include the engine, before I would even consider driving there for further inspection and possible purchase. So, while on the phone, Rome walked out to the car, took a picture of the engine, and texted it to me. After that, he got the paperwork on the car and informed me that they just received the car, that it was soon headed into service for inspection and then to detailing. He informed me that once the procedure was done, he'd have the photographer get all the pictures I wanted and send them to me. He said he'd be in touch. I continued my search. A few days after that, Rome called to inform me the car was serviced, detailed and ready for pictures. I informed him that in addition to the pictures, I decided that (due to being mislead by a previous dealership) I also wanted Rome to tell me exactly what was serviced (if anything) on the car and if they had paperwork to prove it. Rome not only told me, but offered to fax the paperwork to me. I couldn't believe what came through on the fax...details of the service performed...down to replacing a license plate bulb! LOL. I tell ya, a bulb was the least of my concerns. Due to all the help I was getting from Rome, I was truly disgusted with the previous dealership that I vented it all to Rome. Bless his heart, he patiently listened the whole time...the whole time. As of this writing, I have plenty of pictures to look at and re-look at, service docs in hand...I have made no confirmation to Rome regarding my intention to buy, I have a couple other cars in consideration. Rome has made no attempt at pressuring me...all he continues to do is offer any other assistance I may need or answer any questions I may have. Finally, I'd like to add that prior to ending our conversation today (this evening), I informed him that I wished to leave a review for him based on his performance thusfar, regardless if I purchase, or not. But he informed me that a review wasn't necessary, that he was only treating me the way he would like to be treated...'nuff said! Thank you Rome!

My worst car buying experience ever. The cars stopped working in less than a week. Will never recommend anyone to buy a Honda after my experience at the dealership at Santa Maria. I mean the car couldn't even make it passed 400 miles without breaking down. The sales manager act like he cannot be bothered with upset customers, he just directs the to the salesman. Horrible experience.

Called to speak about a vehicle (Civic Type R), the level of service over the phone is amateur at best. In the middle of this 2 minute long call the sales associates tells me he "has to go". The associate has almost no information to provide, seems distracted. Does not attempt in any way to win me over as a customer. Obviously, I WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.

If i could rate this place -* i would. Got a deal with papers signed and everything, they canceled our agreement without even calling. Very poor customer service. Went to honda of lompoc they helped me and drove away with a Honda Civic si.
