I got to amtrac asked do you have trains going to Davenport Iowa I was told yes then I ge Broke a ticket that doesn’t leave to the next day the lady told me that I can’t take my 5 bags only 4 so I had throw some of my stuff away I was told I can take 2 carry ons an chrck one I went to amtrac to not get a bus but I still had to catch a 5 hr ride from Houston to Longview then once in long view I’m told I can only take 2 the gentleman tells me if I would of taken an airplane they would of charged me even more so le s face it amtrac is just can overpriced way of greyhound staff is extremely rude just like greyhound I will never travel like this again

Had a Pleasant visit to the Houston Sunset limited Amtrack station. It is full of history and the beautiful wooden benches look to be nearly a 100 years old, back when beautiful craftsmanship meant something. The station offers bus routes to other Amtrack locations to get you anywhere you need to go. Judging from other reviews I expected the station to be less than sub par, but that wasn't the case with my visit. Very clean lobby and restrooms. The drink machine coin slot is broken and the snack machine was only half full. Those were the only two things I saw that needed improvements. I was greeted very professionally and courteously by the staff and bus driver. This is my first Amtrack experience and I'm very pleased with this station.

First time using Amtrak's services out of Houston. Taking the Sunset to New Orleans. Arrived early. Checked in. Main issue- no overnight parking slots. Don't get me wrong... there are plenty of spaces but only 14 may be used for overnight parking. Asked attendant where we should park, she advised "downtown." Luckily the train was running late so I found a garage less than a mile away. Not impressed with the company so far...

I can't even schedule a trip online. Apparently the train doesn't go to Longview, Tx even though it is mentioned as having a stop. I've tried to schedule a trip twice and both times have been unsuccessful.
