If you can dream it, we can make it!
At Hug Jewelers we are committed to providing the best service to our customers at the most competitive value. That value is the combination of our quality workmanship and our standards of grades of precious metals, diamonds, and gemstones.
Hug Jewelers began serving customers over 120 years ago in the late 1880's when Mr. Schemel started Schemel's Jewelers. Youngster Andy Hug found great interest in the jewelery business and began an apprenticeship in his teenage years. Around 1920 Andy purchased the business, keeping the Schemel name in tact. Starting in 1932, Andy's nephew, Richard Hug, began his apprentiship, signifying the third generation of the family business. In 1940, after taking several classes from the Gemological Institute Of America, Richard opened his own store under the name Hug Jewelers. Shortly after, Richard was drafted into the Army for World War II. After returning from the war in 1951, Hug Jewelers reopened. Richard's unique view of the future of jewelery helped Hug Jewelers progress over the next 20 years. Ownership changed hands once again in 1976 when Larry Hug took over the business. Finally, in 1984, Larry's brother Steve Hug joined the business. Larry and Steve now share ownership of Hug Jewelers, Inc. Both are Certified Gemologist Appraisers issued by The American Gem Society.
