I have been going to the Hurst Public Library since I was a child, it is more than likely the first library I ever went to and out of all the libraries I have been to in my lifetime—it remains the best I have ever been to. It is always clean, homey, well kept and well staffed. the staff is amazing and most of them have been working there for 20+years. A very family friendly environment, I love taking my one year old here to play and read in the children area, which is large and consists of: many shelves of books organized by genre and reading level, a play area with block mazes, wall puzzles and pillows; computers; DVDs/books on CD; tables, study and reading area; a model train making its rounds over head on suspended train tracks, an educational area with live poisonous frogs and a cozy reading nook under a beautiful painting. The new(ish) self-checkout system is amazing and I love that they implemented auto-renewal so that I only have to bring the books I borrowed back when they have been requested. So simple and I get to borrow the books longer which I love! The hurst library has the largest selection of books, papers and media I have ever beheld at a city library. They have wonderful computer facilities, great reading areas with comfortable semi-private seating and mostly sound proof study rooms(besides the little gap under the door.) I love going here, I have always loved going here; Now my family loves going here! It will always be my home away from home.

This is one of the prettiest and cleanest public libraries. It has not only good collection of books but also has plenty of computer stations, kids zone, teen zone, wide open spaces, multiple checkout stations, book drop off stations for off-hours, huge lobby, comfortable couches, quiet study areas, group and individual study rooms, help desk, friendly staff and services such as vending machines, notary, fax and scan, technical support, etc. also, there’s plenty of parking space and interior and exterior. It’s definitely worth a visit and becoming member of this facility. I am in love with this facility.

I have lived in Hurst for a few years and just got my library card. I wish I had gotten it sooner. My children absolutely love the place. Each child got their own card. I am much more familiar with the children's section and the online options. They have many free activities for kids all the way to seniors. You don't have to be a library card holder to participate in these activities. They have calendar of events which specifies them all. It's a great quiet place with a lot of changing exhibits. At the front of the library upon entering there was a bug collection and in the kid's area an aquarium with tree frogs. Kids have access to many learning programs like ABC Mouse for FREE! My son is absolutely in love with the library.

This is a really nice library. I go almost daily to do homework. The staff are friendly and nice. They have a nice reading alcove that has a nice view of the outside. When looking out the windows in the reading alcove makes me feel like I am outside without being outside. The alcove even has a Grandfather Clock that has a nice chime sound. They have nice comfy chairs to sit in. They have plenty of computers for public use. They have a nice selection of books and movies. What sets this library apart I think is that they have a Friend's of the library cafe and a teen zone that allows teens have their own place to be themselves. They even have an adult education section for those who are needing to obtain their GED. There is a history section that gives a bit of history of the town. They have three express checkout stations and a new book section that includes large print. Speaking of large print books they a good section of large print books. The library even participants in many digital books, audio books, movies and TV shows, and digital magazines app for your phone. This is one the better libraries I have been at.
