I would give them a 5-star review for friendliness and speed but unfortunately as of 13 May 2017, I have had two separate incidents where they incorrectly quoted my wife and I and/or slid an extra test in under our noses. We called to update immunizations and received one price. I took our dog in and declined any extra tests/shots. Once in front about to pay, they gave us the bill for $50 higher. Looks like more training is needed. Will definitely be rethinking who I go to after this last visit.

Very poor communication at this practice and did not give us the truth. We turned to hybla valley veterinarian for our Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy because of the high cost of vets in our area. At first we liked what we were getting. Our dog was getting care at a reasonable price. Then it went down hill from there. Our dog had a leg injury that could not be diagnosed here so we were recommended to another vet. When the other vet received his medical records it clearly stated that he had tested positive for Lime disease and two other strands of this. We were caught off guard because not once did we hear from the hybla vet about anything regarding lime disease whether to exposure or that it was in his blood stream. My wife had called multiple times over the next week attempting to get a hold of someone so we could understand what happened and how we were not informed of this matter. Each day a doctor would tell us to talk to a different doctor until finally today a doctor had hung up on my wife after letting her know that the doctor that she actually needed to talk to would not be there for 2 weeks. The blood work was also taken just before he was to be neutered and that concerned us that we were not told of this before going right in to surgery (very questionable). I am a very reasonable and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but please do not mess with my dog and be an honest practice. If we were just told upfront that yes they messed up then I would have accepted it as is and went on our way but their ability to place blame elsewhere has created an issue with me. We have changed practices for the better and will most likely never get a response as to why we were never informed of these issues with my dog. I am sure this could constitute as malpractice, but would rather not deal with this practice anymore. Please refer to a more honest and trustworthy establishment if you are shopping for a new vet.

Let me preface this by saying that I am not usually one to write a review about anything. My husband and I are both very laid back and understanding people, but I felt the need to reiterate and reinforce his review of this veterinary hospital. Last November, our one-year-old retriever fell ill; he stopped eating and he wasn't really acting like himself. They did blood work to see if anything came back abnormal. We were told that they weren't sure why he wasn't eating, but "everything appeared to be fine" and in fact, he was good to undergo surgery (neutering). So, we went forth with the surgery in November 2016. It wasn't until recently, that our dog started displaying signs of lameness and limping -severely at times. When we took him in, Hybla checked his hips and his knees, and then recommended that we see a specialist, since they couldn't really give us an answer. Fast-forward to May 2017. When we arrived, the new vet immediately questioned our dog's blood work from NOVEMEBER. The paperwork that Hybla Valley forwarded over showed our retriever tested positive for Lyme (twice), Anaplasma (once negative, once positive), and Ehrlichia (once positive, once negative). WE WERE NEVER CONTACTED ABOUT THIS AND HIS CONDITION. And for what it's worth, we were never even made aware of a Lyme vaccination. The new veterinary hospital is the one that graciously informed us about the blood work testing positive for Lyme and the other possible tick-borne diseases...6 MONTHS later! Lyme disease can be life threatening and it can cause KIDNEY FAILURE…and somehow this was overlooked? Rightfully so, we were distressed. We left a few well-mannered messages asking to speak to someone regarding the blood work they performed. We were not looking to assign blame; we were looking for essential information regarding his health and well-being. It took us almost a week to get ahold of someone. At first, we needed to speak to so and so. Then, another so and so would call us back. The callbacks never came. So, we politely persisted. So when I called for the 4th time, a few minutes before closing, they picked up, left me hanging on hold. They hung up at 7:01. I tried calling back immedieatly, but they let it go straight to voicemail. I followed up the next day, and no one was available to talk to me around 11 a.m., so I called back one more time after work. When I finally got ahold of someone, one of the nurses or receptionists told me I was looking for the wrong person (after I was specifically told to ask for this particular person) and then had the audacity to tell me it would be another FEW DAYS before a doctor could talk to me about his blood work and health. I became upset and I said that was unacceptable (rightfully so). This was uncovered in NOVEMBER by them, and it's now the beginning of JUNE. I had called 5 separate times over the span of almost a week. As I tried expressing my genuine concern and frustration on my 5th attempt to reach out, (instead of listening) she spoke over me, and then proceeded to hang up on me. Needless to say, that didn't help. It was very clear they were passing the buck and evading the issue. The whole thing was shady. When the office manager finally called me back (after attempting to gather information), she couldn't tell me anything either - accept for the fact that this should NOT have happened, and more extensive testing SHOULD HAVE been done (like a C6), but they couldn't offer any more than that… It gets better. At the end of the phone call, I was even asked why I needed to speak to the Dr., and if it was because we (my husband and I) wanted to "talk about results" or "move forward" with wanting to "know who dropped the ball?" or "who was at fault?" It was never, "What can we do to help" or "I sincerely apologize for this oversight." I'm sad to say that this place has no professional courtesy, communication, and in this case, care. If I were you, I would look elsewhere. For the sake of your pet(s), please don't make the same mistake we did.

I went here for the first time, took both my dogs in. I was so pleased with the staff there, they were superb. The receptionist was pleasant and a old friend of my daughter's. The doctor was kind and was well informed and let me decide what course of action I wanted to take, rather than forcing more and more services on me. He took time with me and the dogs, answered all of my questions. I was very surprised at the low cost for what I went there for with two dogs. Definitely recommend going here over Banfield. Thanks to the other Yelpers that helped me find and choose this vet.
