This is my parents go-to place when they first moved to San Francisco in the early 2000s. It’s good to see the place is still open. The food is still good, and I would recommend giving them a try. I would caution that you use their letter/number combinations when ordering - the person we spoke to spoke neither English nor Mandarin. We were lucky that my wife speaks Cantonese. Your mileage may vary.
Rudest female owner. She screamed at you if you asked her a question whether it’s about a charge or how long to wait for a table. It’s very small and has very limited tables. I overheard a conversation between her and a customer who asked why she charged $2 per person to have brought in birthday cake served in the restaurant. She yelled : of course because she had to provide plates and forks! After waiting for half an hour, we ordered half size steam chicken which was served cold , a steam black bass, spare ribs, roasted pigeon , a traditional Cantonese soup, and Chinese broccoli with garlic. Food were served out to table with an astonishing speed as if everything had been precooked behind the scenes. General speaking, food tasted good except the cold chicken. But I got severe stomach upset 30 minutes after the meal. Ran to restroom non stop and still have stomach problem after two days! Wonder if it’s chicken or the fish or whatever?! Will not recommend this restaurant.
Recommended for family meal or big groups meal. There is few small tables, so if your group is less than 4 people, you may need to wait for a little bit long. For food, I recommended house special spare ribs and tossed chicken with port belly.
As an ABC, I eat alot of Chinese food with my family so I can be kind of picky with this. To my surprise this place had a wait on a Tuesday night and rightfully so! Probably the only place with a wait on a Tuesday. It was interesting to see a variety of Chinese folks in here. ABC’s, multigenerational ABC’s, Taiwainese, HongKongers, and mainland Chinese folk. Their sweet and sour ribs and chicken with pork offal were special. Pang lang jang, have the squad pull up!
Waited about 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Finally got the attention of the person in front who was working the register. We asked why isn't anyone taking our order. "You didn't ask" was the response.
Flavors keep in good condition.
Menu looks full of yummy food, small and tasty portions. Decent pricing, credit cards accepted. A little bit on the slow side of service. Friendly staff.
Oh my god absolute fire. I’m vegetarian and the dishes were SO well seasoned. Especially the mushrooms
Worse customer service in the Bay Area! We were told we were the first one on the waiting list. We waited for 30min. Then all in a sudden, a waitress let someone she knew but not on the waiting list take the table in front of everyone who were on the waiting list. And she was very rude to argue with us. Also the bathroom stinks. Will never return!
we were looking around the resturants since...and choicewhich one., go to there and looked at the menu and pick 3 them. the friendly services put them on the table., it's pretty food server fast., and then to eat them...to tasted so good, it's delicious...
