Good down home food, inexpensive. If not open 24 hours it's close.  Great friendly service, great portions. No liquor license.

The food is fine but the prices are definitely high for what it is, perhaps to keep the college students away and attract a more mature crowd. Service is great and they're fun to chat with.

Admittedly, my rating is more about my feelings for this place than the food itself. There's nothing wrong with the food - it's good - but it's the fact that not much has changed here since I first got to DeKalb in the 80s.  The service was always excellent and accommodating and the food is what you'd expect for a diner-style restaurant. When folks come back to town, this is a spot they want to visit because it feels like home.

Our waitress didn't listen to us and kinda ignored us.   Haven't been here that much,  but less than 10 times.   Worst experience this timbre around.

Service was great. The pies were nice. The clam chowder was mediocre and the French onion soup was...odd. Croutons instead of a slice of bread and no Swiss cheese. 🤔
