The store manager is very rude. The employees treat customers way better then she does. I don't like to feel my money isn't good enough. I more than likely will not come back to this location.

I am livid. My fiancé and I went to Kay about three weeks ago to have my engagement ring reset. All we wanted was to have the diamond taken from the original setting and put into the new setting (both are solitaire settings). We also requested to keep the original setting which is already paid off as we would like to pass it down to a future daughter/granddaughter at some point, which they happily agreed to. Today, I received a message that my ring was ready to be picked up. When I got there, not only was the diamond still in the original setting with the new setting nowhere to be found, but the band on the original setting had been resized! Never had this been requested! The people at the store said they would create a rush order to fix the issue but could not provide any proof that they put this rush order in. They also had no comment about what would be done with the original setting that is now resized for God knows what reason, as we had requested to have it back obviously as the same size as before. I immediately called Kay corporate when I got home. They were able to confirm the order was being rushed but the woman I spoke with also said she doesn't know why the error was made as it was clear in the system that the diamond had to be reset in the new setting with no mention of resizing the original ring. I then asked her how they can fix the error with resizing the original ring as well. Her response was, “oh? You wanted that back?” And I said, “yes. Since it’s already paid off, the lady I worked with at the store said it would be shipped back with the diamond in the new setting.” She said, “oh… well it doesn’t say that anywhere in our system… let me check on that…” I was put on hold for about 30 minutes and she gets back on the phone saying, “sorry about the wait. Can I please call you back once I figure this all out?” Long story short, I never got a call back. I placed another call to Kay corporate who still had no idea what was going on but they assured me that I would receive a call the next morning from the store. I never did and called the store myself. The person on the phone was actually very helpful and I felt better. It has been a few days since, and I received a call this morning that my ring was ready to be picked up. The conversation goes as follows: Kay Rep: "I was just calling to let you know your ring is ready to be picked up." Me: "Great. Have you checked to make sure everything was fixed?" Kay Rep: "What was fixed?" Me: "Has the diamond been reset in the new setting?" Kay Rep: "Yes, it is in the white gold setting." Me: "Both the old and new setting are white gold. Was the diamond set in the Tiffany setting?" Kay Rep: "The what?" Me: "The diamond is supposed to be in the Tiffany setting." Kay Rep: "Oh, um, yea." Me: "Great. I will be there this afternoon to pick it up." And guess what... THEY RESET MY DIAMOND IN THE WRONG SETTING. Even after the Kay rep on the phone confirmed that he had checked and the diamond was in the correct setting. This is literally ridiculous. I want to cry.

WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER. "Dragon" is super rude. I love getting all my jewelry from Kay but because of his rude behavior & extremely bad attitude. I will NEVER shop at this location again. I recommend everyone if you want something from a jeweler go to a smaller less known place. You will be treated so much better then you would here. If I could give 0 stars I would.

My boyfriend and I went to find my perfect ring. We had found one online, and were ready to go to the store to see it and BUY it. The people that were helping us were extremely rude and kept pushing the sale. The sale was more important than our happiness. My boyfriend was left feeling very overwhelmed and felt like it was a scam. Luckily, we went to a independent jewelry maker and are now very happy with what we have. We do not suggest that anyone visits this location.

I just wanted to make everyone aware of the experience that I had at three different kay Jewelers. The first location which is absolutely the worst location in terms of customer service is the Fox Valley Mall location in Aurora, IL. Not only are the employees extremely rude but the assistant manager did absolutely nothing to help other than give me sarcasm. The assistant manager of the Fox Valley location told me that she helps her new business customers first and then helps everyone else that has already made the purchase. When we walked into the store they asked us what we needed help with and we said an exchange so based on that we had to wait for customers that enter the store after us were assisted before us. My personal resolution of this is to return the jewelry that I purchased from Kay Jewelers and never shop there again. The second location is the Vernon Hills location and that was the second worst experience I've had with Kay Jewelers. The employees at that location don't keep their word in terms of returning phone calls in a timely fashion. I was requesting that there designer design a ring for me which would cost more than me picking one of their standard Rings and that was too difficult of a test for that location to handle. I waited 2 weeks for them to tell me That they should have called 2 weeks ago to tell me the designer couldn't do what I was requesting. The fact that I had to call them after waiting two weeks to check the status and only for them to tell me that they heard back from the designer within 2 days and he couldn't do what I was requesting was absolutely disappointing. The third location is the Lincolnwood mall location. Now I must admit that this location what's the best out of the Kay Jewelers that I had visited but their staff still didn't have a clue as to what was going on. When I call to check the status of my purchase they couldn't even find it in their system and I had already paid for the ring which scared me. Needless to say I was quite disappointed that I had paid a lot of money for an engagement ring that they had no record of. It took them over a day to contact me back to tell me that they had finally located my purchase order and that it was being worked on. I didn't have much faith in the company based on the simple fact that they couldn't even find the order so how do I know that they were really working on it, and then it took them about a month just to resize a ring when it should have only taken two weeks. I am so disappointed with the lack of customer service and professionalism that I've received from all 3 locations that I felt the need to file a complaint with customer relations and write this post. I'll also be putting post on other pages just making everyone aware of the lack of customer service you'll receive if you decide to visit one of the stores. I haven't decided which jeweler I'm going to go with because now I'm returning my ring and going with another jeweler. In this day and age when all jewelry is pretty much the same the only way for a company to differentiate themselves from their competitors is by their customer service, and that is something that Kay Jewelers simply doesn't possess and because of that they are not up to par with their competitors and everyone should know it! Diamonds maybe forever but I hope to jewelers isn't!
