Exactly what you would expect. A store that marks items up to make their deals look better. Usually well staffed. Great for cheap jewelry. Moderate selection of shoes, housewares, and clothing. Relatively clean. I always feel crowded; the racks seem too close together.

My wife loves Kohl's. It is probably her favorite place to shop on a regular basis. We did have to wait in line for a very long time to return/exchange some of our items after Christmas, but I suspect that this was probably the case just about anywhere. They have the absolute best return policy among all of the major retailers, hands down.

I love Kohl's and the brands that they carry, but they are a little pricey. I've always found staff to be very polite  helpful and knowledgeable . On our last visit the store was a mess. Clothes are all over the floor under racks, the makeup and beauty Department was a mess also. All of the sample makeup palettes looked like a bunch of 5 year olds were playing in the makeup. Usually the stores neat and clean, but that day it was just an absolute wreck. They do have good sales a few times a year, and we make the three hour round-trip Drive a couple different times during Christmas shopping season to take advantage of those sales.

I use to dislike going to Kohls because of their over inflated prices and the need to use coupons or codes to save money.  My last visit was pleasant and their product has improved since the last time I visited 10 years ago.  I think it is a much better store and with apps that make it easier to save money makes the store more bearable now.

I purchased a coat on Thanksgiving night and with my other purchases received Kohl's cash ($15).  I needed to return the coat but I wanted to buy something more expensive to replace the coat so I wouldn't lose the Kohl's cash.  When I went in they said the only way I could do that was to buy something in the same department as I got the coat in and it had to be exactly the same price ($100).  I find her I wanted to spend more money but she said that was their policy.   We looked through the whole department and couldn't find anything for exactly  $100 so I asked if I could buy two items that totalled $100 and was told no.  Needless to say I returned the coat and will not be shopping at Kohl's anymore.  I wanted to spend more money than what I had and they wouldn't let me because of their return policy so I won't be shopping there anymore.
