It was so nasty I'll never go back

The Lacrosse Hotel is a work in progress. They are currently under heavy renovations and I believe the once grand hotel will soon be back in top shape. That said, if you don't mind the "mess" in the common areas at the moment I think you will find a welcoming staff and a comfortable stay. The property is located near to restaurant options including the attached Mexican offering and has fantastic highway access. The staff were quite friendly and helpful, which goes a long way. My king size room was spacious and comfortable and had new carpet. Since it was on the first floor, there was a sliding glass door leading into the atrium where you can find the pool, spa, game room, etc. Unfortunately, the pool area was closed for renovation during my stay. The room also came equipped with flat screen TV and recliner. If passing through Texarkana again, I would stay there again.

So, this is now a independent hotel. They were part of Choices hotels at one time. With that being said, my room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. I will stay here again if I'm in the area. The only problem was that the lights on the side of the room where the bed is don't work. They were plunged in, but no power from the plugs. All in all, I was very pleased with the staff and room.   Also they will take you to local places if needed with the hotel van.

Alright hotel. There were definitely areas for improvement.

The pool area needed to be cleaned.
No towels in the room.
Coffee maker in the room, but no cups.
The arcade area could use some attention.
Stairwell smelled, possibly due to the lagoon nearby.
On the exterior the place appeared to be abandoned.

On the positive side, the room was clean. Good cable selection.
Modern card reading vending machines conveniently located throughout.

This place isn't closed. It is very much open. I've stayed here twice. Great room and great location by the freeway, stores, and restaurants. There's free wifi and a free breakfast. Coffee is always available for free in the lobby. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a fridge and microwave. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'll stay her a third time.
