We had a family vacation which consisted of 10 of us. There were 4 kids so I wanted a pool for them on the down time. I originally had booked a suite and another room at the hotel across the street but when we went to get our room keys there was a sign on the counter that their pool was broken. That was a no deal with no advance notice. Luckily we tried across the street at High Peaks and the people at the desk were so accommodating and friendly. They were great about the whole thing. We got 3 rooms over at the Lake house all right next to each other. The stay was great with pool and game room everyone enjoyed. We took advantage of the doors going out back with chairs and tables on the ground floor. Walking distance to a lot of places being it's right in town. Would definitely stay again

The lake house lake placid staff are polite, kind and very helpful. Place is very relaxing and clean. Good place for kids  friendly people, pleasant atmosphere.

Good place if you have a dog with you, as they allow them and our room had its own exit which made it easy to take our puppy out to the bathroom. Otherwise, the room was so-so; specifically, it felt a little dark and basement-like. That being said, we did have a lovely view of and easy access to Mirror Lake and the shops in Lake Placid! A solidly average place overall, hence the 3 stars.

The rooms are nice. The balcony off the front provides a wonderful view of the lake. We we're early for check in, would they gave us our parking pass, amenities key, and called when the room was available. The decor is lovely.

Location is the ONLY thing good about our stay.  Slamming doors ALL NIGHT LONG.  Kids running around EVERYWHERE (this was a Honey moon get-a-way).  We ACTUALLY had to sleep with the TV on and fan running ALL night to TRY to drowned out the slamming doors and noise.  And the Hotel rep could care LESS at checkout.  Not even a sorry or anything!!!  🙄
