Just got back from a weekend away in Lake Placid. This is a great location. View was great. Stayed in a king size bed suite with jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The only real issue we had was the cable wasn't ready to go. We got there close to 1am though so it wasn't a big deal. In the morning we stopped to check in and let the staff know. Immediately the man straight from the videos on their website went right to our room and fixed it. Great customer service. When we got back our room was replenished with new towels, firewood, and  soaps. 
There is an indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. I used the hot tub. The only issue I had with this was that the changing area was kinda small and off the hot tub room which meant it was very hot trying to get back in your normal clothes. And you have to access the pool room from the outdoors.. meaning you had to leave the hotel to go outside and go back inside a pool house which I've never encountered before. (So it was a bit odd to me) 
Breakfast was a little lacking. Would have liked to see a few more options. However, when I booked the reservation on the phone I asked about breakfast and the woman told me muffins and coffee so I knew what to expect. When you look online it is a little misleading because it says "free breakfast" which I would normally think a few different types of drinks and a wider variety of foods.
All in all, given location, view, probably the best customer service, and price, this is definitely worth 5 stars. I would definitely book a room here again.

Hotel room is clean, there are a lot of great amenities (hot tub, heatded pool, sauna) also there is free breakfast (coffee, orange juice muffins, banna. bread) although the hotel room smells stale. location is great, right near town and across the street from a rite aid. Not luxury but definitely would recommend for clean and adorable place to stay

I love this hotel. It's cozy, charming, and very close to downtown. It doesn't have a lot of frills and that's what makes it great. The owners are great people. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Nice place to be with your family on a long or short vacation we went there in winter hopefully going back on the summer to enjoy the lake and the other outer amenities.

Amazing view of the lake, but the beautiful scenery is second only to the friendliness of the staff, and how they make our stay feel as special as possible, every time we check in
