Don't know about the rest of the hospital, but, the birth unit is absolutely amazing! The entire staff was very personable, almost family like...Doctors were great, especially Dr. Murphy. I've had two children born here, and I'd definitely recommend this hospital.

My mother was admitted at Lakeland in Niles. I visited her daily and spoke with a Dr. each day trying to understand what was happening cognitively to her. After her time there, she went to Memorial in South Bend where I found out that she had a stroke WHILE she was at Lakeland. Lakeland had known this information and did not disclose it to me, but told me everything else (as I am her POA). I will NEVER have her go to Lakeland again and do not recommend this hospital to anyone!

Absolute worst hospital in the area. If you're one of the few people lucky enough to live through their horrific routine surgeries ( that they can barely perform!) suggest you leave and never come back. Money hungry and impatient triage nurse was the cherry on the cake for this bad experience...but I cant ever say I've had a positive experience here. Management doesn't respond to complaints or calls, just do yourself a favor and go to Memorial.

Had a fantastic experience not only in the Niles ER, with the amazing staff. The nurses and techs were great. The Dr was caring and concerned. After being transferred to St. Joe, Lakeland... I continued to have great care.

took my mom there for increased hip pain,( had replacements in the past). she made the mistake of mentioning she'd had some chest pain earlier in the day(not unusual for her)and from then on they totally ignored the hip pain, even though all cardiac tests came back fine.
Update: my mom left this hospital Tuesday morning with "nothing wrong with her " and passed away 3 days later
