The award-winning Last Resort Grill serves southwestern-inspired southern cuisine in beautiful Athens, Georgia.
It is with great pride that we share our name with the original Last Resort, which opened as a music club in 1966. Those who can still remember the tunes of such passionate performers as the Reverend Pearly Brown, Towns Van Zandt, Gamble Rogers, Leon Redbone, Steve Goodman, Austin Church, Gove Scrivner, Doc Watson, Jimmy Buffett, Phil and the Blanks, Swimming Pool Q’s, Randall Bramlett Band and even Steve Martin may feel nostalgic at the mere mention of the club’s name. Within these walls was born an Athens legend.
The doors were closed for a decade until the present owner, Melissa Clegg, with lots of help from her friends, stepped in to revitalize this piece of Athens history. Her current partner, Jaamy Zarnegar, has become the face of the Last Resort Grill as he is a fixture in the local community and always ready to serve.
We have made a commitment to the growth and preservation of Athens, and are very proud and grateful for the acceptance and loyalty of its residents.
