Laughing Heart Lodge in Hot Springs, NC, opened in August of 2012 after extensive renovation. It is a wonderful facility for retreats, family gatherings, weddings, and events as well as being available to individual guests as a bed and breakfast. The lodge is a great place for relaxing, a romantic getaway, and to enjoy the beauty of our surrounding sacred mountains in our small, quaint mountain town. Our vision includes hosting a variety of retreats in addition to providing peaceful lodging to travelers. We are excited about our endeavors.
The lodge was built in 1892 and, for over 50 years, was a Jesuit Retreat Center. Today, Laughing Heart Lodge offers accommodations in its 7 lovingly renovated rooms (all with private baths) with exceptional mountain views or lovely forest views. At the edge of our 8 acres, Laughing Heart Hostel (located at the trailhead of the Appalachian Trail) includes very affordable lodging for hikers and other visitors to Hot Springs. Next to the Hostel is our cabin with a loft bedroom, available to individual guests August through February.
Adjacent to the Lodge is the chapel which is a great space for retreat sessions, yoga, group meetings, receptions, mountain weddings, family reunions, and other functions.
