Located at 1400 Smallman in the Strip District, Lidia's features authentic, Northern-Italian dishes.

Story

Lidia's Pittsburgh opened in Pittsburgh March of 2001, only two years after Lidia Bastianich and her son Joseph Bastianich opened the popular Lidia's Kansas City, their first venture outside of Manhattan. Acclaimed New York architect David Rockwell designed the interior to reflect an open-warehouse atmosphere nestled in the heart of the strip district.


Lidia’s Pittsburgh menu concept is a combination of the New York restaurants, Felidia and Becco.

The menu features a daily pasta tasting, with homemade pastas that incorporate the seasons freshest ingredients in addition to hearty Italian favorites such as the Osso Bucco, a braised Heritage Pork Shank with barley risotto. The Scallopine of Chicken Breast with roasted lemon, capers, and olive and Grilled Salmon Fillet with Yukon gold potatoes, reflects that essence that is Lidia’s cooking.

I took my mother here for a special dinner. She always wanted to come here so I was excited to take her! The service was great and she loved her food. The building is beautiful! There is valet parking available. She ordered the noodle trio special and I ordered my favorite Italian dish-Chicken Parmesan. She enjoyed her food. I tasted it and agreed! My chicken wasn't the best and I was disappointed. It wasn't terrible but I guess I just expected more. We got dessert and OH MY GOODNESS! It made up for my sub par chicken.It was heavenly. I don't think I'll come back. We had a nice experience.

The brunch was phenomenal. The service was excellent and the food is to die for. They have an all you can eat pasta option which allows you to try 3 different types of pasta, when we were there the one option was 5 cheese pear ravioli and it was amazing. The brunch is $30 per person but you get an amazing entree as well as access to the anti-pasta bar and dessert bar. A top notch ranch experience.

This is a place I had wanted to like because I know folks that do like it and want to visit. The last time we stopped by we wanted to grab a quick bite at the bar so we sat down and waited, and waited. No one approached us. From out two prior visits I thought the food was very average. It's possible that we were just unlucky during our visits but after three attempts, I'm just not sure we will try again. The place is in a great location, a short walk to the convention center.

Love this place. The servers so a nice really nice job. The food is pretty close to what Lidia makes on her PBS show. My first time here I watched an episode on Saturday and the had the same food at the restaurant on Monday. I imagine that is a coincidence but still it was cool. They say Lidia comes here twice a year so if you go maybe you'll be lucky. It's just good Italian food. They are open for lunch and then close and reopen for dinner. It's a solid choice for a meal. Sunday Brunch was great.

Really enjoyed my first time here. We sat at the bar which is okay with me because it was less crowded than the main dining room. The starter and salad were very good--I got the seafood soup as my main dish and was a bit disappointed with that, it wasn't bad wasn't great. The other main dishes looked really good--can't wait to go back and try something new!
