Story

Little River Veterinary clinic has been around for over 45 years. We offer a full line of flea,tick and heartworm prevention along with prescription diets for your family pet. Boarding services are available for dogs and cats with seperate air conditioned areas for each. We provide emergency service, basic dog grooming, dental services, preventive medicine, surgery, and vaccinations. On-site radiograph, ultrasound and labs services are also available. We strive to educate our staff and our clients in the best care recommended for their family pets.

My husband and I took our 9 week old puppy to Little River Veterinary Clinic for the first time yesterday.  The staff and doctor were all very friendly, patient and knowledgeable.  Very positive experience!

They have a wonderful and professional staff and excellent veterinarians! 
The group is always helpful and my family has been bringing our pets to Little River clinic since I was growing up in the 60's ! I would not go anywhere else.

My family has been thrilled to be part of the Little River Vet family for 23 years. Dr. Downs  has been our main vet, but we have seen all of the other vets as well, and they are all excellent. Everything is always explained in detail, and you may talk with or e-mail them with questions. Estimates for surgeries or procedures are given in writing and explained in person. We have had both dogs and cats and have boarded them as well. Our first dog had two surgeries and did beautifully. The office staff is always friendly and helpful, as are the technicians. Everyone is very accomodating. The clinic is very clean and bright. I highly recommend Little River Veterinary Clinic for your pet dogs or cats.

I took my great dane to the clinic to be fixed about 10 years ago.    She was only two years old.    I wanted to see her the night of the surgery and was told I was unable.   The next morning I was telephoned at work and told she was dead.   An autopsy was done and she bled to death.    I told them the dog had been in heat couple weeks earlier.  Subsequently, I was notified by others that big dogs should not have that surgery so soon after heat.  My heart still breaks about what happened.  I loved the dog so much.   In addition, they refused to pay the cost to get a new puppy.   I paid over $2,000.00 for her.   I did wind up getting a new puppy a few months later.   I would not suggest this clinic.
