I always get excellent care from all of the Vets at Merrifield.  I know that they really care about my pets.  And, by the way, I started going to Merrifield, when it was Blue Cross, back in 1958, with our cocker spaniel, Buttons!

This wonderful place miscategorized your dogs' breeds and screwed up your dogs as they were not correctly categorized.  We brought 2 dogs here, one was a dachshund mix, but the veterinarian here named him as a mix breed, the other older dog was a phu quoc ridgeback but another veterinarian labeled him as a jindo, which caused miscategorization of the dogs' true breed and their being themselves making it detrimental to not only the dogs but also their immediate member care family.  We read the breed naming and we questioned them and the dog(s) seemed to tell us what was did to them.  Initially we did not say anything because we gave whoever(s) that did this a benefit of the doubt but then it escalated to the point of hurting further and further, the phu quoc ridgeback ultimately passed away at 12.2 years (vs. an expected average life expectancy of 14-16) and the younger dachshund 11.8 years (vs. average lifespan of 13-15 years), falling short 19% and 16% respectively of their average lifespans.  We are putting this post here because we believe miscategorizing their dog breed can hurt them because they cannot be who they are and this hurt both the dogs and the owner.  We think this was an unintentional error, hopefully, the future will be better for real, we hope the veterinarians consider our opinions and quickly improve or rectify this main task.

I had the best experience here- seriously. They took excellent care of my elderly cat during and emergency visit and hospital stay, and then gave me a huge discount. On top of all this, they graciously donated money from a fund that they have towards the bill, without me even asking. I was extremely touched by their kindness towards me and my cat during that sad time.

Excellent service and very caring! My GSD is always actually excited to see the staff here, she loves them all!

Good caring Vets and staff. Family atmosphere. Perhaps a bit expensive.
