Haven't been here in a while. Actually since it was the Green Donkey. Had the Taco plate, have to say it was kinda bland and the portions were very small. The upside, service was fast and friendly. This place is SO bad. The food takes FOREVER to get to you, and then it’s BELOW average at a premium price. Read this review and believe the subpar rating. Find another place to eat and thank me later. I have waited tables and I’m a pretty patient person at restaurants, but this experience will test your fortitude. Give it a hard pass. Maybe the ownership and management will start paying attention to the many many low ratings and make some change. Unfortunately, they have a captive audience and probably benefit from the crowds despite the poor quality. However, you can take this moment to choose McDonald’s and find a much better situation.
This place was recommended to us and was not disappointed. The service was great, food was hot and delicious. I ordered their Donkey Burger with extras, very filling and a great time. We came in a little after 8 when they close at 9 with 6 people.
Absolutely delicious and purely authentic Mexican food. Family-friendly and very nice staff. We went to this place during the mad rush of Spring break but still the service and the quality was not compromised. There is a special drink recipe 'Micheladas' at the bar. Will visit again when we are in SPI next time.
Wife and I were in So. Padre the 2nd week after Labor Day. We has seen this place close to our hotel and we decided to give it a try. We shared an order of calamari and the chicken fajita nachos. Our waiter was very courteous and friendly. He did his job very, very well. It was a good experience eating here. We saw some ads for Dirty Al's on the TV take a hard pass on that place. The calamari tasted very good and the order size was good for up to 4 people. The chicken fajita nachos tasted very good also, but there was not a lot of chicken on the nachos. They cut the pieces very small to make it look like a large portion but it was apparent that was not the case. Would we come back? Yes, but would order something else than the nachos. Service was 5 stars. Food was 3 stars due to amount of chicken.
The food was very good. Chips and salsa were perfect. I had the seafood soup which had lot's of flavor. A bit small and they didn't have any tool to crack the crab leg open.
Went with the whole snapper. Looked good when presented for selection prior to cooking. Unfortunately it was extremely overcooked and not edible. Also, not a very family friendly establishment due to the decor. 2 stars, but maybe should be 1. Our server was great. Calamari app was good.
We had a great experience at Señor Donkey! The interior was fantastic. Bright colors, fun decorations, and excellent artwork. They've designed parts of the interior to look like a colorful Mexican street. Very creative layout! The food was great! The drinks came a bit slow, but the food came out very quickly especially compared to other restaurants on the Island. I got the chimichanga. The food leans more towards American-Mexican food, but we all enjoyed our meals! Our service was overall timely and friendly. All in all, I'd recommend Señor Donkey for their fast service, good food, and wonderful atmosphere! I'm sure I'll be back soon enough.
One of the finest meals we've had. Between the blackened fish ixtapa and the beef fajitas with ixtapa. We couldn't decide which was better.
