Took my daughter to the ER and a CT and blood    draw were ordered. Both test completed as expected. The next contact we have after test completion was from the nurse. The nurse stated my daughter is being discharged. I was set back by this, and asked why the doctor did not come in and give us the lab and CT results. The nurse said I don’t know, but would you like me to send the doctor in. What kind of circus show is this place. Being prior military and having traveled many places/states, I have never seen a hospital as disorganized as this one. It took us two visits to find the problem at hand which raises red flags. The staff is judgmental and bias as I put that politely phrased. I asked why the ER bedding does not come equipped with a pillow. I was told pillows are a scarce item to supply. CT radiology Dept was able to supply and accommodate my daughter with a pillow. The choice of meds used are extremely poor as well. No need to use meds that are off label meds either. This place needs a new Hospital Administration for certain. I’m appalled!

I just want to thank the incredible medical staff and nursing teams at UP Health System Marquette. My outpatient surgical experience started with an organized, quick registration process, followed by amazing nursing care, anesthesia, recovery and post op care.  Every single person I encountered was kind, knowledgeable and patient. The facility was beautiful but the care teams were outstanding. The UP is very lucky to have such an amazing hospital.

Went into the ER with what looks and feels like a Hernia in my belly button that keeps bleeding. After blood work and CT scan they told me everything is normal and that I would be discharged. They didn't even help to explain what was going on with me. What is normal about a bleeding belly button? The doctor just looked at my belly button and said I dont know what that is. I was then informed that I would be discharged immediately and to seek someone else in a week if nothing changes or things get worse. The entire time I was there the ER was more concerned with legal paperwork to commit someone for mental health reasons, than helping someone who is bleeding from their belly button. This is by far the worst hospital I've ever stepped foot in.

It’s comical that this place can stay in business. I’ve been here twice, but it only took once for me to think that this is the most poorly run hospital in the country. You literally have to check in, to check in, to check in for your appointment! It’s a process I’ve never had take less than 1.5 hours, even though my info is in their system and all I do is sign a consent to treat! 30 seconds signing, 1:29:30 sitting in waiting rooms. My advice to you, go ANYWHERE else. Same services elsewhere will cost half as much and take only a quarter of the time.

Showed up to ER reception with my daughter having a severe allergic reaction swelling extremely hard breathing raspy breathing. Receptionist is rude uncaring condescending sarcastic and can't take criticism. I suggested she remove her useless mask since she can barley breathe. I  hear excuses why didn't she ask if she is having difficulty breathing shouldn't that be protocol. This place is a lame duck waste of time everytime

I would give it zero stars if I could. Dont go here. My dad was having heart issues his local doctor sent up his file and it was marked URGENT. My mom called numerous times for an update. NOTHING. Still no call and its been since the beginning of September. Finally had to go to Petoskey

Absolutely the worst hospital in the state. We were FORGOTTEN in the ER waiting room. Over 4 hours, only to be noticed when they were leaving for the night. On top of the terrible organization, I wouldn't trust them with a paper cut. Take your loved ones elsewhere if you can.

Update review, previous review at end and previous star review was one however: Recently had an emergency situation with a serious injury. The nursing staff was top not notch, compassionate and thorough. They were awesome.  Previous experience and review below.  ER Review: poor nursing care not all but sadly ours and more recently with my son the ER receptionist Abby more worried about paperwork than people. Insane wait times. People in serious pain and condition waiting hours. Not the Marquette General it once was. Awful. Some good nurses and doctors and housekeeping and logistics but seriously a broken system.

I have experience of getting services and medical treatment at UPHS Marquette. Family birthing amazing. Lab techs are good and friendly. Registration tends to be a mess. Overall good patient experiences.

If I could give a zero star I would. A fact that I have to call multiple times to find out what my test results are is terrible the doctor usually calls you but here they’re clueless they have no communication with patients and don’t give any information they just say go home and if you don’t feel good come back in like no run some tests and do your job.
