Nice mechanic shop near downtown Spokane. They seemed honest, and got my brakes done the same day I dropped my vehicle off. I recommend dropping off your vehicle in the morning, then walking down to Frank's diner just a few blocks west. Parking for the mechanics is limited, but then again so is all parking in downtown!

I am going to do my best to review the business objectively. My wife and I have been coming to Mechanics Pride for about 5 years, prior to them moving to their new building they were in a small shop a block or so away. 

As they have grown over the years, the service has gotten diluted and they are stretched - whether by lack of mechanics or refusal to hire, I'm unsure - but it has really taken it's toll on my patience.

As another reviewer stated, having an appointment is irrelevant as it gets you nowhere, and when having only one vehicle leaving the car for 3 days is not an option as is the case with many of their clientele.

I made an appointment for 8am on a Saturday for an oil change, filter and fluid check on other essential fluids, which should take about half hour to an hour. I was told by Mike that it will be done between 8 and Noon, even though I had an appointment and have no way to leave. I have since spent half of my day in the freezing cold waiting area and have no idea on the progress of the vehicle.

I am not a mechanic nor do I pretend to be, however, I feel the process is flawed and should be reviewed. When someone makes an appointment at 8am on a Saturday, because that's the only day they can come in and don't want to spend all day there (hence making an appointment), it is much enfuritating to be sat in the waiting area for 4 hours.

I understand the complexities of running a busy business, but one simple solution is to only book out when you know you have time to actually do the work. I could have gone another week to wait on the oil change and be in and out of here in half an hour, but took the appointment that was given to me expecting the same turnaround. Alas it is my fault for assuming that, even with a pre-scheduled appointment, I would be out of here in any timely fashion.

While I understand the techs at jiffy lube aren't skilled mechanics... I feel I lapsed in judgment in coming here for a fluid check and change - I think I'll save the time (and perhaps a few bucks) and leave my oil and fluid changes to Jiffy Lube in future.

I may be on the prowl for a new mechanic as well.

Last summer while driving home from northern Idaho I broke down outside of Spokane. I had my can towed here and within thirty six hours they had replaced my fuel pump and had me on my way again. I owe them big time, they are a wonderful group of people and a wonderful company. If only we had a Mechanic's Pride here Redmond.

Both Mike Sr & Jr and the entire staff are very knowledgeable and honest. Fair priced and still know the meaning of customer service.

I would put zero stars if i could.  Every time i took my car in to get fixed it had more problems a week later. I took my car somewhere else and found out i was being charged for work that didn't need to be done and the real problems weren't fixed right or at all.
